Pull string broke a few days ago and while I was replacing it I decided that I would trying to setup a kill switch since in a few days I plan to carry it to a shop to get scrub pads welded on it. This is a brigs and straton engine.
Normally the engine will crank after 2 or 3 pulls and me adjusting manual choke.
Well I went online and read to setup a kill switch I need to go off the tab at the back of the coil and ground it to kill the engine. Correct ?
I took piece of speaker wire and connected side 1 a(gold wire) to the tab on the coil. I then grounded the side 1 b (silver) to the engine. Started engine and touched the the opposite ends 2a gold to 2b silver and the engine shut off. Now it will not start at all no matter how many times I pull it. After using kill switch does the engine need to set a while before cranking ? Of is there something that has to be done ?
If not then what did I do wrong ?
