really nice truck! looks like the body are the same.

if i had unlimited money, i'd

-lift 6-8" or so
-large knobby tires
-sun visor
-tool box
-FIX MY ROTTED FRAME
-lots of body work
-new front and rear end
-new front drive shaft
-better sound system

i did get my scrap run in... made $73 that was my first time. 660 pounds of steel.

Next time bust the aluminum tranny case with sledge hammer. Easy way to get the bare aluminum and better prices.

i never took the drive shaft out. and it started doing it a little before i parked it to take the bed off.

Looks like I lost 5 bucks. I seen it was painted and thought you had it off.

You feal no funny stuff at the pedal when driving right? No pulsing or anything like that?

Did you fix that gear that was chewed up in your axle? Maybe it has a flate spot.

the pedals feel fine and the truck drives and shifts normal. the gear is for anti lock brakes and its been like that probably for years. i think i have to take the axles out to remove it, so unless i know for sure that is whats rattling i wont touch it

also about the aluminum. that was the first time i was going to the scrap yard ever and i didnt know how the system worked. now i seperate all the aluminum i can.

i brought a transaxle case and a briggs block (the cursed one) and got like $15

i think you look into supporting your tail pipe a bit better. it could be the cause of all your noise. it looks like you have about at least 2 feet of pipe with no support.

but within that 2 feet there is nothing holding it to the frame. the pipe and muffler is just hanging there. on my trucks there is usually a support behind the muffler that hold the exhaust from rattling.

so maybe like a hangar on the tip?

yes those shiny clamps are only to hold the pipes together not for support

maybe i can do some kind of redneck clamp to see if it fixes it before i spend $10 on another clamp

luckily i kept the old springs so i put those in and hopefully im all good. gonna test it tonight.

someone screwed up good. this is why i do all my own work. i guess your lucky you have a ford. i was trying to find a park brake strut for my 81 dodge when i first bought it and could not find one at all. i end up having to get one for a newer truck and shortening it to fit my 81.

haha yeah no kidding. i would have done it myself but i had no choice really, i barely had any chances to get into the auto shop to work on it myself.

i thought i needed a lift to replace the leaf springs but not really, i ended up taking them back off to fix my frame..

went for a drive and NO RATTLING!!!
