Okay so my company auctioned off a bunch of stuff last week and i scored. i think.

Picked up a drill press, rolling plastic tool box, and a huge vise (see quarter in pic for size reference). for $50.

Then auction win on table for $26... i had 20 but last second someone came and put 25 so i had to go up a buck. but still nice table with wheels. going to use for welding table. need a big piece of plate steel. Have all my Krazy kart parts on it now, while i clean/arrange my garage a little.

Then this week they pushed out the mini lath mill i've had my eye on for a couple years now. going on next auction! probably end up 1k but if i can convince them to seel before auction maybe i can get a good deal. early xmas gift for me maybe...

Those are definitely good scores. I have not had any good scores like that in a while.
Except for buying a Baja warrior minibike for 30 bucks the other day LOL

haha, my bad. $30 is a steel. wouldn't even think twice at that price.

Well that mill/lathe went for $500. they said 1500 minimum so i didn't try to bid on it. then they gave it up for 500! ugh.. oh well. guess i didn't need it that bad.

I did Pick up a craftsman vise for $10 at an estate sale. Bolted to a $50 wood working bench. Guy said 10 for the vise and i grabbed a wrench and yanked it off the table! score. these things are easily $50.

Plus i picked up a bunch of junk from work during the 2nd auction. now i have too much junk in my garage. need to stop buying stuff!!! someone help me, i have a problem :)

maybe ill organize this weekend.

Great score today even though it was not in the trash...

Drove 40 mins to pick up a good used pair of size 2 fox mx boots for $10...
When I got there the guy said I could have them for free. He then included size 4 and size 6 mx boots - in great condition.

I told him my son raced minibikes and I was going to buy him a 50cc Yamaha or Honda dirt bike soon.
He proceeded to tell me he had a 50cc China dirtbike in the backyard. Hey said he parked it five years ago when his kid got in trouble riding on the streets, and never started it since.. So it's been sitting in the sun for five years.
He gave it to me free...

The bike looks like it has potential and since it hardly rains in Arizona it shouldn't be that big of a deal to get it working again.

It is a Honda clone 50cc engine...

Just thought I would share...

A/B: Found this at the local scrapyard sometime last year. I fell in love so I claimed ownership and brought it home which isn't exactly legal in this state but it's a lot better than where the SOB who ditched it. The SnapOn guy said it's a 1960s model. The chest and base are worth about $500. It had EVERYTHING for tools a couple (not kiddie friendly) posters inside as well as a '66 Mercury Comet dealer flyer.
Fate: Still Used

C: This was field find freebie. '86 Renault LeCar that was abandoned a long time ago. Owner finally dragged it out and I snagged it up. The engine, trans, brakes, steering, suspension were all seized but like 80 gallons of PBB and 1.8 Elantra swap later she was a fun lil car.
Fate: Sold for $1200 ($750 Profit)

D: Picked this up at the dump from the metal bin. The engine was shot but $79 later it was a fun toy. A bit sketchy above 25mph but it was pretty easy to handle. It was some Chinese knockoff mountain board that sold for $229 new but they're not as quality as this one.
Fate: Sold for $80 ($1 Profit)

E: Picked these up last week (had more attached) Yeller's a OHSK130 Cumseh, Blackie's a HM100. Both now run, both were free, and both are being sold for $150ea. $0 in rebuild, $0 in parts, and Priceless in GLORY GREATEST VICTORY!
Fate: Sold ($300 Profit)

F: Last but not least and my personal favorite. This is my ongoing (4th time) '78 "Nighmare Nova" Prostock (Pre-Alpha 2nd time). 10 years ago this was on the side of the road with the title taped to the window and the keys on the seat. It had a TIRED 250 I6 and a blown THM250. It fired up and managed to limp home 50mi then was immediately stripped down. A 454/400 from a dump truck was the 1st beast. That was for it's 1st 5 years. Then a LT1/4L60 from a Roadmaster was the 2nd, then finally I went all out and got myself a Blue Prints 540. Slapped a blown blower on it (made like 3psi but looked even worse). Finally decided to go with the ProCharger. Best time was 10.02 @ 138mph then my brother decided to put it into a wall at 136mph after a mount broke and the front control arm snapped off. So now she just sits there in the corner always in the way like the old fat lady at the nursing home, slowly healing it's way back to health.
Fate: Gigantic Metal weight/10mm socket stealer

About a month ago a guy had an ad on CL for Honda CT70 and XL100 parts lot for $200. Pictures were vague. I asked if he would sell only the CT70 parts (to use on my CT70 Clone), he agreed. When I got there he said price was still $200 even if I only picked thru the parts or took everything, so I got my money’s worth and took every single part, nut, bolt & washer I could find.

Turns out there was only a few CT70 parts, but I did find an original Engine Guard and Taillight Bracket, which I already installed on my clone.

What else I got includes 4 Honda frames: 1970 CL70, 1972 CL100, 1972 CT90 & 1975 XL100 & most of their parts (loose) minus the engines. Also several parts and pieces to other various Honda bikes, a few new and sealed parts too. Lots of part are bagged a tagged, which helps a lot.

Also notice the rusted parts, the guy had a large tub of parts (heads, carbs, controls etc.) sitting halfway filled with water, what a shame. :ack2:

I consider this a Trash Night Treasure, because this guy was letting these 40+ year old bikes and parts to rot in the elements, and I know these are worth more than $200. The CT70 Engine Guard and TL Bracket would have easily cost me $100, so I’m happy with my investment.

Holy crap. You could be one of them sick people that just hoards and hoards and hoards Honda parts and sells like 2 things a year. Us Mopar people have that issue. No one can figure out why. Is it me or did Honda steal the tail light mount bracket design from Suzuki with the GS-L series?

Either way awesome score.

So i went to an auction in the mountains this weekend. Picked up two 9" Tires with Hubs, $5. i 'll post once i get home and take a picture :) They look tiny. so maybe good for mini bike. small mini bike.

Then there was this nice white Oldsmobile toronado that the owner had in his garage. i did not buy it, 6500 probably good price for it.

To keep the kids from using it, or anyone from using it, he planted a tree in front of the garage! The Auction crew just finished cutting it down when i got there. so no tree pics. that would of been neat to see. it was a big tree too. so it must of been in the garage for years.

spedo said 52k... could of been original miles or could of been 152k. you never know with old cars and the 99,999 max counter.

I am looking for a fun project car or motorcycle next... Need to sell one of my 4 cars first though. anyone want a POS dodge stratus? 200k miles?
