I Actually had a very very similar experience last Saturday. You should have seen me trying to hold on to the kart with the pull rope! luckily we were in the dirt and it immediately started big awkward donuts, and finally stopped when a tree jumped out in front of it. I ran over and hit the kill switch. Best (most embarrassing) part: All in front of my Dad! and I had been so proud of my kart that I had just built for his grandkids. He was cool though but boy did I feel silly.

The throttle is off a boat and it has a solid steel rod instead of cable. it got cocked in the hole in the stock briggs hand throttle and overpowing the return spring.

No damage to the kart just paint where the bumper hit the tree (oh and my pride)

Sorry,
but for the price of a new predator you can fully restore a Honda block,
and you get a much more reliable engine in the end.

I think this is exactly why you should've looked inside when you got it ;)
...Gotta GX200 w/ no governor off a CList find. It does have a 'sluggish' acceleration(especially low-end)... so figured it would be more suited for this kart(guessing something else has been done to it other than the governor removed... but dont wanna open it up until I HAVE to)...

you're now exactly at the point where you HAVE to :(

Oh.. okay, a governor makes perfect sense for your girl.
(for now ;))

She looks like the sort of girl that needs a governor for the first two weeks or so,
and then asks for more vroom ;)

So, if the Honda is restored, I guess it'll end up on her kart rather than yours :D

My kart rebuild began when my second son started the kart and it took off with him chasing behind it. It ran across the street, through two neighbors yards, around a huge yard rock, back across the street, and stopped by ramming the neighbors garage door ( which knocked the door off its tracks). Needless to say the GC160 got a new carb and new clutch spring. Now the cosmetics are nearly complete.

Ya ya ya... OK dad! Jees... some of us do at times, accidently go #2 w/out checkin to see if theres TP... Sigh lol

And I do have plans on rebuilding the Honda... race worthy. But Im gonna want a governor on my daughts motor...(as well as mine for the most part)n the clone on Lo-T now wont last forever... So w/ daughter starting off fresh n NEW, I wont have to worry bout hers... while I build up the Honda the way Im wanting.

...lol when I told daughter I accidetly blewup her motor... she was more worried that I just threw my gun away because of it, instead of the fact that she wouldnt be driving her kart for alil while. So NO hand me down motor for my girl!
:funnypost::lolgoku::lolgoku: Waiting for my son to come to the rescue. Sometimes you just assume that its in there. I mean, I just bought some......

Hey HalfBreeder, that looks like an awesome kart!
Also.... That engine in the last pic. Could you tell me where you got that aid filter?
I need a small red one just like that. The ones at Bmi are like 60mm to fit over adapter. Looks like yours is a custom adapter?? The ones I saw one ebay are 43mm. Thanks in advance.

His filter can be bought online at kidsatvparts.com and I made the adapter for him out of mylar. It's a hard plastic. IIRC,it's like 2.400" or there abouts..... I think I made that like almost a year ago, when Tihm and I became friends. Later, he sent me some exhaust wrap, and I was able to do the candy cane header on my kart and the straight pipe on my dirt bike.....
Those filters come in blue like mine and red like his. I think they have a chrome one too.... They are a local warehouse to me, so I go to the brick and mortar store. (no wait for shipping) their tech guy,Nick, is pretty cool. I get to wander around the warehouse and look at all the boxes and boxes of parts, engines,carbs,ect.... We talk and bulls:censored: about karts and atvs. He wants to build his son a kart, but says he don't know how. I've explained it many times, and mentioned (read urged ) him to come check this place out.... I think I'm gonna take a kart up there next time and give him a ride. One ride is all it takes to get hooked, especially if you let me drive. ......

Thanks Jim. I will probably have to get one. Because I think my rear fender on the Doodle Devil will hit the large filter that BMI has. Thanks again.

They have a lot of different filters. If they have one that fits your adapter, let me know....
It looks like they do. I will be needing the 60-62mm filter, but I am pretty sure the 58mm they have would probably fit.
My stuff will be here soon.:cornut:
