Purchased this go kart (not sure of make) but curious what I need to get it going as far as clutch/torque converter. It has this driven pulley on it already and not sure what brand. Can someone please tell me exactly what I need? I have a predator 212 to put on it

Looks like a very universal engine deck plate, 212 should be perfectly fine for it.

As for that driven clutch, your pic does little to accommodate identification but from what I can see it looks symmetrical to me which would make it most likely a 40 series (possibly a 20 series).

IF you can get it off the shaft and clean it up then you'd only need to get a 40 series 3/4" bore clutch driver to match your engines PTO shaft and a genuine comet belt which will require getting a center to center measurement of the jackshaft to the engine PTO after the engine is mounted.

Any Generic unit will do provided it is for 3/4" shaft, and is identified as being 40series or symmetrical.

30 series is the absolute only one to use ASYMMETRICAL sheaves and belts.

Hopefully these pictures will help. I believe the driven pulley already on it is a 40 series comet. So all I need now is a 3/4” 40 series driver pulley and belt? What size comet belt?

I think what has confused me is some go kart torque converters have the sprocket on the driven pulley and it seems this set up doesn’t? I’m not sure if this helps but after some research I think this frame is a carter bros trail buster

Oh yeah and my 212 has the stage 3 kit in it so I believe it’s getting around 10hp if I remember correctly. Should I stick with a 40 series?

The make a 3/4" 40 series driver, they also make 3/4 to 1" shaft shim sleeves
I used a sleeve once on a 420 on my tractor. This spring when the tractor quit moving I found it roached the key way in the crank. Not happy, now I get to find another crank. It had a wired vibration in it from the beginning despite having to tap the pulley on. Now I’m against those sleeves!

I see my dilemma as an opportunity to buy a bigger motor to go faster
Not an accurate assumption. Bigger is not in fact always better. It does look as though 3/4"-5/8 40 series has ceased to exsist though

You could pull the jackshaft and run a complete 30series and chain down from it.

You'd be surprised what a 30 series can handle versus their recommended power handling because my 208 was at the threshold stock... I'm way over the recommended power rating for a 30

In this case there is not enough room to run a backplate. We’ve been through this before. It involves a lot of welding. The 420 is your best option and rods and flywheels and a bunch of other stuff like cams and carbs and trick heads are available. Not to mention the extra kick in the butt from all the torque.

Appears you do have a 40 series. Now you need a 40 series driver and you’re all set. You may want to upgrade to a 420 with those big tires though. Plus I think the 40 series driver only fits a 1” shaft engine.

Denny, is this the correct converter I need? Or do I need a different one with the style of kart I have? (Yes i know Amazon probably isn’t the best place to look)

If Denny Says, Denny is right 99.5% of the time. That's a 40 series which is what you have a driven for already. I DO KNOW that at one point there was a 3/4" bore 40 series available as well as the 1"; it was the 44 series that was a 1" shaft bore only.

It's a shame that it's usually cheaper to buy a whole backplate kit these days though.

As long as the shaft sizes are correct for what you have your golden! GoKart Supply has a great tutorial on how to measure for a correct belt. Use only Genuine Comet Belts!!!
