I have bought a few things from china over ebay including one of the chinese mini bikes and have never been taxed any extra, The only reson i doubt GTC is because there website is very dodgey and has only pictures of boxes (strait from china i suspect) but besides that there are post on this forum coming from GTC and they are obviosly full of **** And there are the post's from the new mebers at the same time stating how the gtc cluch is the best thing they ever bought, and even another guy claiming he got one from the ebay guy and how it was **** and than starts ranting about GTC These are guys that have signed up to post one coment and disapear coincidently the same day the apparent GTC spokesperson was online.... No transparency at all, I don't believe they are honest and that is why i say i would buy an ebay one before tham but that is just my opinion!

But realy $160 for a piece of china **** i would sooner save a few more bucks and keep an eye out for a second hand comet....

The Edge Products sell genuine comet ones for about $600 if your only interested in "real quality".

Finding a second hand comet in Aus is near impossible.

Or even better. just buy a motorbike engine, all your problems solved!

there is eather the bomb around the yard

or what most people have which is a bit of speed but still relative simple cinstuction

then there is full on edge buggy

i built a mid ranged one and going as far as almost purchasing a comet toque coverter from england i just went out and picked up a 250cc went home bolted it in and went

I am building this machine for my son so he can learn to drive a go kart and he is fully excited.... There is no way he will enjoy trying to clutch and change perhaps that is for the atv in the future.... i do have a 10 hp with a 3 peed out of some old 70's bike and an mr50 engine short a carby barrel but the moto engines are just not suitable, And there are Comet series torque converters on ebay for $200 and $100 postage lol from the USA not china... But for now i think i will just get a simple clutch and about five boxes of beer with all the coin a save!

Honda CT110 engines (postie bike) have an auto clutch, will be cheaper, last longer, more powerful ect ect.

Ideal engine for a kids bike really.
