The picture is worth 1000 words. He uses the valve compressor fork in his drill press but only use's it as a press. He puts a cloth on the drill press table (Hopefully). Pulls the press handle and that will push the valve down untill it hits the cloth, compressing the spring using a magnet to remove his 2 peice keepers. Its hard to do it yourself without a one handed press.

Safety first! Even know he probably wouldn't turn it on on purpose, he might swing a screwdriver wildy across his head, hitting the drill press and throwing the head into his mothers car. Thus shattering the head and breaking his mother's car window. Then after the head makes it threw the window, it would hit an impact panel and be thrown by the air bags out the back window! From there they would hit an old man on a bicycle. The man would fall down and have a heart attack. A women would see him across the street and run over to help, but only to be hit by a garbage truck...

Now image if only Oscar would have unplugged the drill. That would not have happened!

I've seen a Junior Dragster 3 pound clutch fly off at 8000 RPM and go threw a cars windshield. I've also seen a grade 8 bolt shear from the slamming action of the clutch. Clutch flew off the end of the crank and rolled and bounced all the way down the track to the 660 mark.

Oh yeah, Photobucket didn't copy my link >.>

And I was asking Tyler on MSN if that head would fit my 36cc scooterz.

Oh and I turned it on to see what'd happen. Nothing happened lol. I use the a bolt to hold the little compressor to the chuck.

nice method. on bigger engines i use a socket and an extension rod. put it over the valves and hit it hard with a hammer. too bad you cant assemble it like that :D works like a dream for disasembly

Haha, well ed, this method works for putting them on too ;)

They do actually. Very well. I used this method so I could lap the valves in and then port and polish it and then bolt a 22mm Mik on it :)

Freakboy - I'm working on that :p

i used a oem brand door panel tool to compress the springs in a flatty. slip the keepers in place, drop the valves in. use a flathead to tweak the keeper so you can get the door panel pry bar in. compress the spring while pushing down on the valve, manipulate the keeper.

i used a bs drill press for regular drills to do mine (on ohv). in dealing with some of the bike valvetrains with duals, and split keepers i use a longer pry bar, similar to the one hand compressor. spring tension? who knows but the are stiff, you could stand on em and the would maybe move.

Get some PB Blaster on it, get some heat, and then after that, remove the rod and piston assembly, and the camshaft, side cover...

So the crank can basically come out. Get a 2/3 jaw puller, attach it to somewhere on the block, and keep turning till the crankshaft pop's out.

Might put a BIT of stress on the flywheel, but not too much IMO.

Used it to pop a press on clutch off on a cheap 49cc 2 stroke.
