Throttle Issue!!

So how do I bend it, or which way do I bend it?

You will have to take off your own linkage and have a look, only because it is terribly hard to explain. Rotate the parts while its in front of you and see how it moves. On mine, if I rotate the handle up, at the halfway point, the linkage rod plate starts to move because of a metal tab that pushes on it. There is no way I can go past halfway upward without the linkage plate moving forward as well. I can move it backward freely as far as I want to, but it certainly moves the linkage plate once it is going upward. Are you sure the plate isn't open and needs to be closed back toward the lever, via the dark colored spring?

Is the piece with the rods supposed to move forward or backward?

By watching this video, Mayne my setup is backwards or something. Mine does the exact thing as it does in this video, but on my kart, that would close the carb, I need it to go the other way. Possibly something is backwards on my setup?

The rods are pulled backward because you added the springs like I showed you. If you rotate the throttle upward, and it does not push them forward to rev up the engine, then the video is showing you that the spring inside that you cant see is broken. You must have a broken spring inside your throttle assembly if it doesn't go forward at the halfway point. Go on eBay and search for "Tecumseh 34677" and it will be $30 shipped to your doorstep for a brand new unit. You also will need to order the brake cable stops as well, so add in a pack of 4 cable stops for $7 and you will be all set.

Before you go ordering a new throttle though, make sure you have the rods going into the right holes on the carb. LOL!

I think that's my problem, I thought the the piece with the linkages was supposed to pull, not push. Haha, it turns out it pushes. I'm going to try to hook it up a little differently, I'm going to put the linkage in a different hole and see if it works. I'll let you know the result!

Can you post a picture of your carb, like where the linkage is and everything?
