Yet nothing on the kart?
Haha, ill get it put too, its too big for for this offspring spot nearcmy house unfortunately.Yet nothing on the kart?

I'll likely be picking it up on Friday. In the really urban cities on the coasts, lots of police departments use these for ticketing parked vehicles. This one is probably from the Seattle PD. Essentially it a custom tube steel frame, single seat vehicle with lots of aluminum pannels, that was made in Canada. Most of the "guts" of the vehicle are from a Hyundai car that was never imported, one of the really small cars. 1000cc 3cyl engine, 4 stroke, water cooled, with a transmission and reverse. The doors are cool, you can drive with them all the way open, closed, or just the top half slid back. They are titled as motorcycles. In the Seattle area, folks really like them because you can park in motorcycle parking in the city (aka perpendicular), and really big one is that ferries let you cut the ferry line to the very front if you are on a motorcycle, so much faster at getting across the water. They have an electric governer that limits them to about 40mph from the city, but truning one screw bumps that up to about 73-74mph. There are turbo kits for the engine in Europe, so I might mess around with that. A HUGE downside to these are the parts. You can buy them, but some of them are custom, and charge a premium. But, thanks to all you folks, I feel confident enought that I can wing/adapt whetever I need on this thing. If the engine is south, I am going to totally change the back end, but i'll leave the cab enclosed, its really nice for rainy driving. They are a hoot to drive, super good turning angles. Basically its a street legal go-kartWhat is it and more pictures please?

Nice!!! I havent been following this thread too closely, but what are you going to do with it?Whelp, I take the last comment back, I think it good to go! I got the fluids at the appropriate levels, put a container of catalytic converter cleaner in it, and ran it for 45 minutes. No more smoke, and no smoke after repeated start ups. I thing she us road worthy, just need to fine tune the ATF levels.
Lots of evidence of too much oil though. Hopefully it was just the last fluid change that did that. But still worth the risk at $630 for the rig.
Urban commuter. I have owned two of these in the past. They are funky to work on as the actual engine/tranny are from a car in Europe/Asia, and everything else is custom made from a place in Canada. Once you get over that hump, and realize that parts stores won't have parts, and the internet is your only option, they are cool little rigs. This will be my comuter vehicle to the school I teach at. My work location changed to be about 10 miles further from my house. Right now I can bike/walk to school as its only about 4.5 miles away, but next year it will be about 15 miles. My truck gets 10-11mpg, and this thing is somewhere between 40-50 mpg. Has all the bells and whistles too: Heat in the cab, A/C, defrost, waterproof lockable trunk, and it can be driven with the doors open all the way, or just the bottom half closed, sorta like a Jeep. Front window wiper, wiper fluid, the back window slides open, seat is some sort of fancy seat with adjustable air cushions. Cool little rig. I don't plan on going over about 45 in this thing, but they can do around 73-76mph with the governor off. They are titled as a multi-wheel motorcycle. A big random perk of these things is that on the Washington state ferry system, motorcycles get to cut the line to the front of the Ferry, and I think the fees are a little cheaper. There are a few islands in the Puget Sound where folks live in a remote spot on an island, and jump on these things to take on the ferry to work in the big city. You can use motorcycle parking too, or find free street parking. There are lots of perks. But maintenance/working on them is definitely the biggest obstacle. Plus, they keep you out of rain, which is nice sometimes.Nice!!! I havent been following this thread too closely, but what are you going to do with it?
