Whelp, I could start a new thread, but I'll keep this one going because its basically the same thing, just bigger. As a regular auction browser, I won this guy today. Final cost was less than the red trike. Downside is the headgasket is blown. Its an oddball 3cyl 998cc Engine from South Korea, that was also used in Europe. Parts can be found, but sometimes they have to be bought from overseas. My goal is to try properly fixing the headgasket. If that fails, or if the problem is larger than that, I am going to gut the engine, and possibly do a gokart engine in its place. Possibly Diesel, possibly turbo, possibly WVO, possibly motorcycle engine, the sky is the limit. I could delete the tranny, but it does have reverse which is nice. I found out that I am changing work locations next year, which increases my commuting distance (all on urban/side roads), so this thing is perfect. I have owned 2 in the past. The last one I lifted, put bigger tires on, chopper handlebars, and it could do about 73mph on the highway, but it was absolutely terrifying at those speeds, hahahaha. More work/info to come. When I first bought these I wanted to turn the back into a mini flat bed deck. I didn't have welding/metal fab experience then, so I may go that route now. I will say they are a blast to drive, especially with the doors open. There is actually a fantastic round tube steel frame on these things, super stout.

I'll likely be picking it up on Friday. In the really urban cities on the coasts, lots of police departments use these for ticketing parked vehicles. This one is probably from the Seattle PD. Essentially it a custom tube steel frame, single seat vehicle with lots of aluminum pannels, that was made in Canada. Most of the "guts" of the vehicle are from a Hyundai car that was never imported, one of the really small cars. 1000cc 3cyl engine, 4 stroke, water cooled, with a transmission and reverse. The doors are cool, you can drive with them all the way open, closed, or just the top half slid back. They are titled as motorcycles. In the Seattle area, folks really like them because you can park in motorcycle parking in the city (aka perpendicular), and really big one is that ferries let you cut the ferry line to the very front if you are on a motorcycle, so much faster at getting across the water. They have an electric governer that limits them to about 40mph from the city, but truning one screw bumps that up to about 73-74mph. There are turbo kits for the engine in Europe, so I might mess around with that. A HUGE downside to these are the parts. You can buy them, but some of them are custom, and charge a premium. But, thanks to all you folks, I feel confident enought that I can wing/adapt whetever I need on this thing. If the engine is south, I am going to totally change the back end, but i'll leave the cab enclosed, its really nice for rainy driving. They are a hoot to drive, super good turning angles. Basically its a street legal go-kart :) The tube frame is pretty stout, which gives me the ability to design my own engine mounts/changes if needed. Engine is behind the driver. Up font, the single tire is basically just a really beefy motorcycle fork setup. It runs really small car tires on all 3 wheels.
