Putting it back together. Liking the paint! I need to do a little electrical work, and a few other things, but it should be rideable within the week. I picked my son up from the bus stop on the dune buggy yesterday, kids had a hoot checking the vehicle out.

Ok, in the home stretch. Overall very happy with how everything is going back together. The new engine mount placement while only a inch or so different, solved multiple issues. I got lucky on the final fit with reference to my spacing at the tail end.1000002272.jpg

All that's left is a nee master cylinder (found a crack with a slow leak) and I am swapping the front led light bar/headlight out for a LED med/large round one. The straight var just looks wrong. I may get two round headlights, still debating. And a new air filter. I may desighn some sort of small snorkel setup for driving through puddles/creeks

2 round headlights for sure IMO. Would fit the project perfectly! Cheers on an awesome project "almost" complete.

Yea, the duel headlight look is just plain cool, something like the enduro/desert dirt bikes. Matches the rear wheels too. I'll likely have to bump up my battery size, but i'll hunt around for a bit, no major rush on that one.

Agree. Cool build. Whats the wheelbase?

My .02ć, a little larger tank. The shape mimics the seat and is cool. Id just have tried to made the sizes more similar.
Totally agree. The tank is a little small. I am keeping my eye out for a used one off of a chopper/harley. Down the road I may try Tig welding my own. I have been looking for an excuse to buy an English Wheel, and that would be a fantastic first project for getting one. I'll likely leave this little guy on for now. As far as the wheelbase, not sure. I will measure next time I am working on it, Its probably about 36" from outside to outside of the tires.

Something like this, but I bet the current on these is above what i can run, so I'll likely go to a LED, but I still like the look of the bulb better, just cleaner than LED, eventhough LEDs are way efficient. 1773681502263.png

Whelp, found out that the forks need to be fixed first. Initial inspection found the Aluminum triple tree looked a little weak/fragile being made of Alumium and tightened with Allen head bolts. Initial test run has confirmed this issue. Will be replacing with steel and welds, as well as wearing Carhatt pants next time (got some road rash). Stay tuned. I think I'll put a small rack up front too, along with a second set of pegs further forward. This thing will wheelie forever, haha.

a long long time ago before LED was a thing these were my favs.
yeah they suck some juice, 100watt@ 12v = 8.33 amp.
Still have a pair on the pickup
Those are just flat out cool! Thats what I would run if it were not for electrical requirements. Something makes me happy knowing you older guys are running spotlights for landing aircraft on your daily drivers, hahaha.
