Ok, I am ditching the mount and triple tree design that came on the trike. I used some big left over steel DOM tubing from my dube buggy spindles to make the frame to triple tree mount. The original one was a little off center/tilted anyways. Triple tree to fork mounts are the original mounting brackets that came from the bumper that is on my dune buggy. The bumper was from an 80s Toyota 4-runner. Should be pretty stout! Ill try and have it all welded together by the end of the night. 8 plan on making a small racks to go on the front as well.

Ok, forks are fixed. Ill probably cut off the pokey parts. But I may leave a little metal on there for an offset headlight or two. We shall see.

This thing is so much easier to work on than the buggy! Cleaning up angles, lines, cables, and a bunch of little things. Im going to adjust the seat angle, adjust the exhaust tubing, and I'll work on the rack this week.

Do you folks know which model of drive and drive clutch this is? Series 40?

Where is the belt police? Officer Denny! Please issue a citation to this belt offender!
You know the penalty for using a non approved belt? Thats right! Its changing belts in the cold PNW rain, in a mud hole, with a pair of vice grips and cresent wrench.
Do yerself a favor! Change now!

The "Changing belts in the cold PNW rain, in a mud hole, couldn't be further from the truth!"

Doing the diamond plate like the buggy. Recessed and supported from the bottom.

Last year I acquired a ton of old school manual sheet metal working tools from a much older gentleman that I use to shoot competitively with. He was nationally ranked in Free Pistol during the 90s, and his father was a glider pilot during the invasion of Normandy. Kind guy with a big character. I suspect he knew he was on his last days and didn't want these going to the scrap yard after he passed. He was a career Tig welder and machinist for a big name aerospace company. These are all tools that were pulled out of dumpsters after the company switched to more "modern" tools. He passed away last month. I feel that he would approve of my use of them.

-Diacro tube bender (Weighs about 400lbs)
-Diacro 24" sheet metal sheers
-Pexto sheet metal bender
-Thor Turrent hole punch, with 10 dies
-Beverly shear (second biggest model)
-Whitney Jenson corner notcher
-Diacro 90 degree notcher
-Roper Whitney Angle Iron Shear
-90 degree angle iron shear.
-1 copy of "Karting" by Tex Smith

My goal is to get all this stuff mounted. Pretty fun getting work done without power tools.1000001447.jpg1000001458.jpg1000001457.jpg1000001455.jpg

You are one lucky man! I don’t know if you know the value of those tools but you have been given a great, great gift. The Beverly shear goes for around $1,000 the last time I priced them. You can buy new blades for them and they still make them. Read up on sharpening the blades for the shears and such. Be careful they will remove a finger in the blink of an eye.
