I still see one of these on occasion.
Unusual transmission which some of you will immediately recognize.

CVT was invented by these guys.

The car appears to have a direct connection drive shaft from the engine. Then goes to a trasfer case to the 2 primary's and carry's on from there. Pretty neat!
