if u have a big enough weight im sure it will work.. if the bottle is tough enough also.. it probaly would just crack the plastic and leak out.

normal diesel compression is around 250 psi...

Okay, I think I get it now, Thanks all! Kinda mindbending when you don't expect it. Especially considering the old 1962 Dexta tractor I use for clearing scrub. It's got a 3cyl Perkins Diesel that's WAAAAY overdue for a rebuild. If it sits too long between uses (IE a few months) it will not start, not even with ether. I have to put oil in the cylinders via the intake or injector lines to get the compression back up to where she'll start. I believe it's because the rings are bad or the cylinder walls aren't in the greatest shape, so when it sits a long time, it loses the coating of engine oil on the cylinder walls and the compression's too low to ignite the mix...

be careful of that, its a good way to bend rods
id definitly rebuild it check the bore with factory specs and speaking of 3 cylinder perkins my tractor has one is a massy 240 and it starts all the time everytime even when cold.

The actual owner of the tractor is far too cheap. I told him repeatedly that it needed it, he refuses to pony up, so, sad as it is, I'm just gonna keep on keepin' on 'till the dang thing blows up or refuses to start entirely. Then I get to give him the ol' "told ya so!"

I believe first post is a Hatz diesel engine. Northern actually sells them for around $1,900. I wanted one to play around with(the EMP proof go-kart!) but not at that price. $300 is pretty good but that gear reduction restricts it.

you can not run a diesel engine on straight methanol. reson a rc car engine works is the the is nitro (very explosive) in the methanol the nitro creates the ignition for the methanol to burn. but i like the idea of runing the standard ignition of a clone or somthing simler with a really hot plug in one of these diesels to run it on straight methanol. so much comp. and nice cold fuel would be an awesome engine
