Looking good!

Is that a tobacco or shoe polish tin made into an air filter box?
I like it, something different and reinforces the DIY theme.

Are you going to run a clutch or will it be direct drive?
( I noticed the sprocket on the crank)

One tip, those zip starters don't last long without the decompressor fitted. I made a nipple from a 1/4" bolt with a hole drilled through from end to end, then drilled a hole in the inlet manifold, tapped a thread and fitted the bolt with Loctite. The decompressor tube is connected to it - works fine.

Another way: A friend of mine adapted a Honda starter to fit the Victa, used the Honda cup in place of the Victa one and bolted the Honda starter onto the Victa cowling.

no decomp on this beast haha just easier to bun a spark plug in it thanks for the tip by the way might help future applications haha

haha thanks guys i apreciate your comments more work to be done yet haha when it runs it has a patch werr it revs real hard but sounds like its leaning out.

i might do a run and check the plug but what colour should it be ?

might get a set of jewlers drills that go up in 0.05mm steps and re jet the carb got theree spares so im not to worried bout fluffing it up haha.

cheers matt

Cool,
A two cycle engine benefits in a big way by using the correct tuned piped designed for the particular port timing and port shapes and length of the exhaust port.If one of you guys would bolt up a degree wheel to one of those engines and measure the exhaust and transfer port duration and exhaust port shape and exhaust port length I would print you out what those little engines need as far as a pipe goes to get a ton of more power out of those engines.
The wrong pipe configuration can burn the engine down and not produce the maximum output of what the engine is capable of making.
Here is a sample of a pipe and the correct configuration that it needs to produce a wide power band with one gear ratio and this is a two stroke utility engine.

Thats a pretty sweet sounding victa. Let me know how you go/went rejetting the carb if you do it. One thing I found with the g3 carby is you can bypass the stupid gear part of it by putting in the main shaft off I think a briggs and stratton carb (5hp or so, whatever doesnt have the stupid tank and carb in one thing). The shaft fits nicely and lets you control it without worrying about the gears slipping or anything.

And also, it doesnt seem to lose a lot of performance with the decompressor in and disconnected. A friend and I bodged together a victa powered ride on frame/trike go kart death trap thing one weekend and just left the decompressor there cause it made it heaps easier to roll start it. Amazingly it still started easily, and my friend even said that after it sitting there for 3 months or so it still fired straight up at a light jog as soon as he pulled it out of the shed

If you don't have any luck with modifying the G3 carb, grab a PZ27 from ebay.

I used this carb on my 160, you will need to make a manifold which can be easy if you have a friend with a lathe:D

Carb was about $37 with free postage. It comes with a pod filter which is terrible. I bought a Uni Filter from the local bike shop for $25 - works very well and is washable.
