in order to hurt my balls i would have to ride up on the front fork and press down. i think it will be ok.

however, alll i have to say bout this thing is RAW POWER!

i was doing 32mph (my phone has a speed app) and it had a sudden burst of power and i pulled right into a wheelie accidentally!!!

wow! its insane! better when you have kill switch, brakes, and functioning throttle control!

hello belt drive!

the chain wasnt allighned, so all the teeth stripped off the clutch. its round.

had some pulleys and crap laying around, so i did this!

almost done!

Looks ok, but don't expect nearly as much power as before! If you can even get moving. As for speed, it cold increase, but with a ratio like that, I wouldn't be surprised if it went down.




EDIT: maybe align the chain and get a new front sprocket? Lol

yea well tomorrow im going to take it out and see what happens. it its OK then i will finish it better.

Are you going to add some gussets on the bottom of your frame? That 1/8 motor mount plate as all the support it has right?

I added 1x1 tube under it

why dont you try to get 2 regular motor mounts and put them on top of the exiesting so that you have full support all the way around?

well there are only 4 bolts in the bottom of the engine.

well i tried out the bike, and it sucks. i think i need a jackshaft.

maybe i should box it until my finances can afford it.

Just what I was worried would happen. Personally, I vote you get a new sprocket, slot the motor mount ( for easy chain tension adjustment) and align the front and rear sprockets with a straight edge, or price of sq tube, or some angle iron.

what brand clutch don you have?

my plan as of tonight:

just work on the vertical shaft kart for now, put this bike away, and ill re-evaluate this come spring or late april-ish when i get money from my birthday.

i punched into the calc and got 128MPH

it has (had) a twist throttle and brake, also 2 kill switches.
it sits as a carcass right now lol.

That sucks, but this build was awesome, now I know what I am gonna do with all my scrap steel, and used parts lying around. Hopefully I can find at least a 3hp briggs for next to nothing. I only have $30. And I am cheaping out on this project.

Cool. Tell me when you start it. Have you got a scrapyars around? I heard you can get small engines real cheap. Too bad i dont have one anywhere near me.

This bike has been sitting out engineless for a while. I just kind of gave up on it lol.

My friend said hed buy it (or i take parts off and give it to him) and he wants to put his 8hp briggs into it. Icant imagine how much power itd have. With the 6.5 it was crazy enough. He has to spend time alligning things though, buy a motor mount for the 8hp briggs, and well go from there.

I dont know when ill be able to start.

@jr.mints a bump is 3-4 months old, but yeah, its alright, now its 0 days old lol.

An 8hp would have alot of balls, and would be scary and fun at the same time. Yes I live on a farm so I gots lots of scrap parts and steel lying around and know the right people who also hace even more scrap piles that are better than mine. Any way I got a 5hp Briggs that is seized just a little so I might tear it down and c what happens, I got nothing to lose. Yeah I will post my own thread when I start the project, probly july or august. good luck with yur kart amd bike in the future.

thanks, and yeah rip open that briggs, you never know what it will look like ha. when i took apart the 8hp there was just alot of aluminum flakes and some big chunks.
