i posted this on old mini bike forum at first, and got a lot of people saying it was crap, and i should throw it away, and when i posted it on pocket bike planet it is on the home page, the FIRST ARTICLE!

so i dont know what to say to that but lets see DIY's reaction! lol.

Being that you are only 14 with little funding. I think it is cool as hell. Who cares what anyone thinks. You will be the one smiling while riding it.

Cleaned up and painted, I think it'll be pretty cool. You need to do something with that choke lever, it'll fall off. I cut the top, pointy part flat, and drilled and tapped a hole in the carb's mounting boss. A machine screw holds the lever on now.

Looks cool dude!

Is there any reason why you ran full beads of weld across the sheet steel between the top bars?

Because i had time, and the tac welds didnt look great. The piece is super thin so it was reeeeealy hard to weld it.

And most of the welds arent done, just strong enough to hold it in place for now, in case i need to change it.

I would reinforce from the rear vertical bars up through the front because that swing arm and motor mount looks a bit shaky. Or at least from the square piece forward. These motors have considerable torque.

im probably going to run a pipe underneath from the square piece all the way to the red piece in the front.

and swingarm? it only has front suspension

Credit for building a scrap bike, not the easiest thing to do. Looks like it may lean to the right alot with the engine.

i was able to move it over about 3 inches when alligning the chain... so its better, but oh well.

as long as it moves its a sucess :roflol:

Because i had time, and the tac welds didnt look great. The piece is super thin so it was reeeeealy hard to weld it.

How about, to save time and wire next time, try tacking, then running several beads 1-2" long, on the otherside of the plate, so you can't see them, i think a couple of 1" beads each side at the end, and a couple of 2" beads down the side would have been ample for this project.

This reduces the risk for the plate to warp, and looks much better than a full weld, its also cheaper and if you weld on the underside there is no grinding or sanding to do.

any luck finding another wheel?

You think that bottom motor plate might need some support?, good to see the new wheel, how much did it set ya back?

$50. my parents actually bought it for me since i wasnt working on anything and i was just wandering around the house half bored... lol... and we had midterms last week so they wanted to take some stress of my back :D

so yeah and also i drilled out the main jet too big :mad2: it barely even ran... and smoked like crazy.

so i spent a few hours today shoveling snow and my parents bought me a new main jet!!! woo!!! it was $12 with shipping... kinda alot... but i have no choice.

and whats in my wallet right now?? NOTHING!!!! yeah!!!

looks like its coming out pretty nice! did you guys get a ton of snow from that storm a few days back? just missed me, but my cousin (in ct) got like 2ft. i got mostly snow/rain/slush. i would look into getting a more precise set of drill bits for drilling your carb, and maybe a few jets to fool around with.
