Jeeze!!!! I was driving today and this stupid red-neck decided that "Left end lane ends ahead " and "lane ends merge right" gave him the right to run into me in the right lane...... we barely bumped mirrors, but I said screw it and hit the shoulder and drove around the car in front of me....this scumbag drove around me on the shoulder and smashed my passenger side power mirror....

I had my .25 auto (chambered and off saftey) almost out the window, and I traded it for my cell on camera..

Unfriggin believable....after calling 911, I went to look and my camera failed to get a picture....so I called back and cancelled the call.....

Oh well....$27.88 delivered....beats jail and court and all that hassle, plus a turd like that is barely worth the cost of a shell....

Well that escalated quickly. You bring a gun into the situation that you are partially responsible for? That's embarrassing and lacks class.

I wonder what the other side of the story is.

That is the main reason I don't carry a gun. Heck with the phone, that is illegal while driving!

No matter what side you're on...

we all have been in the driver seat being distracted for one or another reason..

All times top three:
getting a bad phone call (handsfrees included),
the passenger made something [funny/stupid/embarrassing....],
you happen to have a hornet/wasp in your car that thinks it's funny to land on your hands/face...
and you simply cannot help but cause trouble

most of the time, that's been rewarded with a private concert in honk moll,
conducted by the maestro's middle finger.

And I guess as many times as I conducted such concert, I've been in the auditorium myself.

Since you cannot do anything without his license plate I guess...
there is only ONE thing you can do: "Relax, and forget about it"

You did good pulling the phone instead of the lead accelerator, but you know that yourself.

One more thing to think about:
Have your guns unloaded when you have them in your car.
You'll never have a road rash shoot out anyways...
and this way you have a two more seconds to rethink in case you're about to start one ;)

Ummmmm......nope...an unloaded gun will get you justifiably killed in Texas.

And Grant: Partially responsible? For driving in my own lane? For trying to get away from this psycho redneck idiot? "Bringing a gun into the situation? " It's my "MasterCard" ....I don't leave home without it..... He never saw it...so it had nothing to do with his idiotic actions....

And yes...I have just blown it off...and proud of how I handled it....20 years ago I would have parked on the shoulder....got out and kicked the snot out of him and his car....(he couldn't have escaped in the traffic jam).

EDIT: BTW: I've been packing for 40 years....only pulled it a few times...brandished once, and never fired a shot in anger. But I'm not going to be the guy that regrets being unprepared against these drug head rednecks.

I got to try metal engraving today, was really fun up until the point where my wrist started hurting like when I knap or handle a dremel too long. sharp pain, feels like its gonna pop. but its just pain.

and this is just my 2 cent on above. who cares... I've had a gun pointed at me more then I care to admit in my life time been shot at twice, still here... no holes included. and I'm still young!

there's two types of people around guns, the type that run away from the shooting, and the type that run towards it.

UH OH!!!!.....Sounds like you are headed for a round with Carpal Tunnel....Been dodging it...(barely, for years) ....price we pay for being good with our hands....

And.....ummmm...don't put too much stock in past escapes from brushes with death....we could start a peeing match that would last for days...but it only takes once to lose that game....time to start running the other direction, so you can get old....

We had a new rule introduced a few years ago that states "when merging, the vehicle in front (as compared the the adjacent vehicle) has right of way"; the part many "drivers" forget is "where there are no lane markings"...

As a result, Doug's situation happens all too often because, the existing rule stated that "where there are lane markings, merging traffic must give way" & people substitute the new rule, which doesn't even count, & then complain when they get hit...

Yup! An unloaded Gun is about as useless as a brick.
My Dad taught me two things.
A: Never point a Gun at someone unless fully intend on shooting them.
and
B: Never shoot at someone unless you fully intend on completely eliminating them.

So my Gun stays at home to protect my family, However I am considering Carrying it more often. It is not road rage or rednecks I worry about, but that is for another forum.

:surrender: :surrender: Shooting, injuring, and/or killing someone else only provides momentary satisfaction, and gets you talked about in extremely bad terms. And all of that before the legal process even begins......

I for one refuse to carry a hand gun. I have a pretty slow temper, but once you cross the line, it's bad day all around. I can get into more than enough trouble just standing 6' away from someone while screaming at them at the top of my lungs; adding a lethal weapon to the mix is the last thing I need.

As for someone else trying to use one on me? They better make it count, because I'm big enough to do some serious damage with just my two bare hands.

And yes, I am a gun owner. Just no hand guns or assault rifles. And while I have some firm opinions on some of the other hot button issues, this isn't the forum for that.

So you feel that I'm an invalid because I can only lift ~150 lbs with my wiped out shoulder? Like I said, you'ed better make it count; if I get hold of you, it won't be pretty....:smiley_omg:

Ummmmm....Pat, that's the whole point of a gun....it's so us old decrepit 150 lb. weaklings can take ya out before you gets close enough to squish us when you go down!
