Yeah...these newer cars fold up easy....
Funny...I had an old '70 Chevy pickup...there was a traffic jam and I had to stop pretty quickly. I looked behind me and saw the car behind wasn't going to be able to stop....so I let off the brakes and gave him as much room as possible.
Since I was concentrating on the distance of the car in front of me....I can only surmise that this stupid Mexican let off his brakes when I did...instead of using the space I gave him to stop, because he hit me hard. His car was fubared. I just shook my head and drove on.
Why stop? It was his fault...he mangled his car, and without even looking...I knew he hadn't even scratched my 1/4" steel plate bumper.
He pulled up along side of me...trying to apologize..and I just waved him off...shaking my head and grinning.

It's a small world.
So....the #1 ranked golfer in the world is Jason Day. Jason's childhood home was Queensland, Australia. I remember a recent member joining up from Queensland.
So...mention was made he lost his father when he was 11 and they were poor. I lost mine at six.
Now...in the back of my mind...I was thinking Jason lived in Ft. Worth. He doesn't. He has a home in Ohio, (where his wife is from) ....and one in Florida. But....around 2010...he injured his back and moved to Ft. Worth to do a rehab program called the back nine. It was at the Jim McLean learning center on the east side of Ft. Worth.
As I was studying and learning golf...Jim McLean was one of my favorite instructors on the golf channel and I learned TONS of stuff from him...but until today had NO idea he was EVER close to Ft. Worth.
While here, he was a member of Colonial Country Club. I know Nike set up R&D at Leonards just west of me where Tiger Woods and Nota Begah spent time....(but not as much as Poboy....who hit 300 golf balls a day!)

Many years back I changed out a sliding glass patio door for french doors. Instead of being an idiot like those TV guys...(and most of the macho fools I've worked with), I left the sledgehammer in the truck and surgically removed it.
So..I build a little 4×8' addition to the back of the house and tapped into the kitchen plumbing and ran 220v to make a washer/ dryer room. Then later I built a sun room on the back of it. In the winter I keep the patio door closed...but in the summer I leave it open and just open and close the sun room door. The sun room has windows I leave open a hair to vent the heat.
Sooo...I go out to get clothes out of the dryer and a red wasp is buzzing around. I lookup...and it's like a paper wasp convention...4 or 5 nests. I grab some carb cleaner and spray them, but almost all of them just flew off. I came back and they were all over the nests again. Then I noticed a huge red wasp nest right next to where my clothes were hanging.
Some people douse them with gasoline, I use dishwashing soap and water....but I didn't want either of them all over my clothes and laundry room. So I scratched my head for a minute....then went to HD and got some foggers. I put one in and slid the door shut....

Practice welds looked good. Must have oil or something on the other. Tig just likes clean metal. What welder you using?

I dont think oil was a problem. I have to manually control the gas flow, that will take some getting used to.

Escorts are more fragile than a lead balloon... My father had a '96 a few years ago and hit a deer at 20mph. **** thing managed to bust the exhaust manifold right off the studs in the head. Escorts are made for back seat space... other than that they're pretty much tinker toys.

Well...I honestly hit a coyote at 70 mph...now the ABS light comes on occasionally and the AC quit working...but otherwise...unscathed.
Of course...I was really lucky...he had barely gotten in the road...and he tried to duck under the headlight...so I just basically ran over his head and shoulder...it would have been very nasty with a stand up center hit.
But...If you want bullet proof drive a 3/4 ton truck with a steel bumper....or to save a little gas money....an Escort will do....
Moral of the story: just don't run into things!

Well....you know I was hospitalized for ten days with extreme lung infection and pneumonia.
Occasionally, someone would start asking me about smoking and how many cigarettes I had a day....I would tell them it varied widely, depending on whether I was working or busy....but just for a base average...about a pack a day.
Then I would say: "But I've cut down a lot in the last week! "

My new can crusher:
My first one..(far right) $7 HF .It was Ok and got the job done, but wouldn't crush tall cans. Then the rivet on the left side turned loose and I had to keep fixing it.
Went to HF and found the fancy multi- loader in the middle for $10. Didn't feed cans, cans got caught all the time....I just plain hated it. The handle stuck out when not in use, and it got in my way more than once.And it wouldn't crush tall cans.
Enter my new one....heavy duty and crushes tall cans.Now I got to get busy to recoup my $50 investment!
The bad thing is...it gives me less incentive to finish the 'Poboy Crusher'...but I will someday.
