make sure your welds are solid, or things will come apart at really BAD times. lol. also, having your motor and axle sprocket centered and far away from a bearing can cause your axle to bend. make sure you have your axle sprocket near a bearing! bent axles are no fun, plus your chain will slip over the sprockets if the axle flexes.

otherwise congrats! wish i had a nice motor like that. my 13 hp 390cc greyhound motor does great climbing big hills though. :)

:iagree: Nice job. I just have one small suggestion. As pointed out by mysteryboy, welds have a tendency to break if not engineered properly. In this case, the bars you have the top of your shocks mounted to would be better positioned (IMO) level at the top or outside the lateral bar. Being inside as they are may cause premature breakage due to the constant force against them. Being on the outside will only force them into another bar so they have nowhere to go & mounted level you have more surface area to weld to.

Tanks for the feedback everybody. I will make sure to have all my welds solid to ensure no problems. For the axle i had already thought about the idea of it flexing there for i have a third pillowblock bearing that will get rid of any of those flexing problems. Lastly i thought about the shock mount bars and i have an idea of a support that will help any problems.

I just have to repeat the issue about your welds. It looks like it is all tack welded, and not complete. I also want to point out that the the metal your axle bearings are bolted onto doesn't look too strong. Is it OK?

Yes i know everything is tack welded so i can get everything centered and once im done with that i will take apart the swingarm and bring it to my shop to have it welded because my welds suck...

That's how the welding process goes: you tack it together & if it holds you know it's engineered correctly. If everything was fully welded & it wasn't right, imagine how much time you'd waste cutting the welds apart.

Thanks, I know that. I just wanted to make sure that what he had done in the pics wasn't the final product

quick little update.. I put in the third pillow block bearing in the center of my axle so i wont have to deal with the axle flexing..

And for the concern about the metal my axle is bolted too it 1/4 in thick so im not scared of it failing..

quick update.. I hated the way my a arms were so i went with the stock a arms with the heavy duty balljoints i think theyll hold up just fine! Also added the rear part of the cage i wanted hope you like it! ps. still waiting for the rear end to come back from the shop so i can start finishing up the buggy.

Now i need to straighten out where the joints bolt on and put in a few supports.
