Sorry- another observation/pondering question:....
Isn't it weird that a modern engine doesn't follow the common practice of making the intake valve larger than the exhaust? The last motor I saw like-sized valves on was the B/S 60000 series motors. (2hp) Even the 3hp (8-B) eventually went with the larger intake. I guess that's why I'm not getting the Big Bucks to be an engineer!
Hope you don't mind me asking... Is that the stock con-rod/dipper in the 3rd picture? ...and, isn't it amazing how well splash lubrication works, even OHV models? You'd think that there's NO WAY oil could be flung clear up into the valve cover, but not one of the "Hypo GX200s" I've seen ever attempts to change to a pump. This stuff amazes me to no end. I can't wait for time (Time? Hah!) to do an autopsy on my Tecumseh OHV. No harm can be done to it....!

That definitely doesn't look like a stock rod, more like an ARC billet rod with a forced oiling dipper.
Just curious because my B+S has plastic cams...?

What do you mean? Every engine I have laid my hands on have a larger intake valevs. This includes:
Briggs 2HP
Briggs 3HP
Briggs 3.5HP
Briggs 5HP
Genuine GX110
GX200 Clone
Tecumseh 6.5HP
Briggs and Stratton 5.25HP...
All larger intake valves than exhaust. I have a pair of the 2HP valves. Definitely follow the larger/smaller rule.
