Well today is the day, my sons first real test drive. After work today I will be purchasing the brake and chain. Me and my son will do whatever fabrication work we have to this afternoon then if all goes well, he will take his first real test drive this evening.

Its been a great project for both of us, we started of with just a dolly, a broken stripped down seat from a scrap steel bin and an old Briggs 3.5 engine. Later a friend of mine gave me an old power washer he had with a Honda 6.5 engine that he said wont start. He took it to a repair center and they were going to charge him 300.00 to repair it and he didn't want to spend the money so he gave it to me.

Me and my son checked out the engine did some trouble shooting only to find out that the only thing wrong with the engine is the jet was plugged and wasn't getting any gas. we cleaned it up really good put in fresh gas and VRRRROOOOOOM it started right up. I called my friend and told him I got the engine started and asked him if the wanted the power washer back he said no he already bought a new on........so there you have it.

This has been a real learning and GREAT bonding experience for the two of us, my son discovered talents he never knew he had, welding seems to be his strong point, what took me two years of trade school to learn he learned in a matter of hours. Anyway rambled on enough now.......wish us luck!!!!!!

Well test drive went pretty good however, the front end seemed a little squirrely a little hard to keep it under control. It is like super super responsive you barely turn the wheel and you are turning. We took it really slow at first the first run a little faster the next and so on for a total of 5 runs.

Tomorrow is another day we're going to take a look at everything again make super camber and caster are set correctly and so forth. All that being said, im very proud of my son and his patience and skills he has developed along the way. With this being the very first time we did anything like this and building totally from scratch, I think we did a great job. I will post a video tomorrow.
