Well today is the day, my sons first real test drive. After work today I will be purchasing the brake and chain. Me and my son will do whatever fabrication work we have to this afternoon then if all goes well, he will take his first real test drive this evening.
Its been a great project for both of us, we started of with just a dolly, a broken stripped down seat from a scrap steel bin and an old Briggs 3.5 engine. Later a friend of mine gave me an old power washer he had with a Honda 6.5 engine that he said wont start. He took it to a repair center and they were going to charge him 300.00 to repair it and he didn't want to spend the money so he gave it to me.
Me and my son checked out the engine did some trouble shooting only to find out that the only thing wrong with the engine is the jet was plugged and wasn't getting any gas. we cleaned it up really good put in fresh gas and VRRRROOOOOOM it started right up. I called my friend and told him I got the engine started and asked him if the wanted the power washer back he said no he already bought a new on........so there you have it.
This has been a real learning and GREAT bonding experience for the two of us, my son discovered talents he never knew he had, welding seems to be his strong point, what took me two years of trade school to learn he learned in a matter of hours. Anyway rambled on enough now.......wish us luck!!!!!!
