Tecumseh Stuttering Problem

My kart is starting to stutter when you give it gas. You have to give it a push and then it starts to stutter and then finally gets going. I am new to karts and am thinking it need some lube or possible the clutch needs adjustment. If it sounds like lube, where to lube and what kind of lube to use? Thank you for your time.

sounds like either your engine isn't spinning the drive shaft fast enough to engage your clutch or you clutch needs replacing/repair.

Clean the carb, thats the only thing you can do on these crappy non-adjustable carbs.

if the carb was the problem wouldn't it continue to sputter after it "got going"

Could just be running lean on the idle circuit (making it sputter).

Sounds like a lean miss. Does it also ever have a "Lean Snap"?

The kart runs fine after you push it to get over the stuck part. It sure seems like it needs some lube, just not sure where. Any suggestions?

are you running a clutch or torque converter if clutch sounds like the clutch needs rebuilding/replacing.

I just got this kart from a guy on craigslist. so i would say never. What is the drive and where do you lube it. (I hope i didn't just run into a joke?)

It was just a really dirty Torque Converter. Cleaned it up and ran great but then i started smelling gas and look down around the carb and it was leaking a lot. So I went down to RC small engines in Reno and pickup a gasket set for my carb and problem fixed. So we took it out for a spin and now a new problem NO BRAKES!! So I will be tearing down the back end to see whats up with the brakes. The brake cable leads under the engine into a metal plate. I imagine it fits somehow around the axle but I didn't get a chance to tear it down yet.
