You should start a new thread. This isn't really about Tecumseh 6HP modifications anymore lol...

i got a quote and it was 85 for a rod. no way jose im paying that much for a rod. i bought a whole engine for my car for a bit more than that

piston skirt got nicked a bit but thats taken care of. it was idling when it broke so nothing serious

here are some pics to took when i took the clutch apart. it looks like it has alot of wear on it for less than 2 hours of driving.
also the the whole clutch shoe doesnt engage all the way. you can see on the drum that theres only a 1/4" where it has contact

You know, I've noticed that it doesn't seem like my clutch has ever engaged completely either. There's only evidence that it's only touched like half of the full width of the shoes. Maybe the shoes need to wear out a bit more on one side before they'll make proper contact. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that has noticed that.

yup vanilla solidworks. never heard of bryce. is it any good?

back to the 6hp tec. rebuilt it today. runs great except a shatload of oil is coming through the head gasket. on an OHV i can understand but how does that much oil get into the combustion chamber of a flathead

UDATE- stupid me forgot to plug the hole fron the gov linkage but there was still a pool of oil on the piston

Well there's only 2 ways oil can get into the combustion chamber on a flathead. Rings and valve guides...

Well it IS a Tecumseh :D

Jk jk... Try running it again. If it runs all right, it should be fine. Take a look at oil consumption though.
