I took my mini bike to the mountains last weekend and totally burned up my cent. clutch ( it was soo much fun tho). i would like to ride in the mountains more. so is it worth my while to spend almost $200 on a TAV2? is it really worth it? if it matters i have 12T and 72T sprockets right now. thanks

You CANNOT ruin one of these. It even says on the box its for go karts, mini bikes, junior dragsters, and farm equipment.

Actually my old cat99 tried to kill itself by blowing the edge on the driven pulley that the retainer clip rides in, few washers on the end of the jackshaft, bent the spring back (it was :censored: up beyond all belief because it jumped half out of the driven while going 20mph and accelerating) works fine now. But this is the older less beefy model im talking about.

It will take a **** load of abuse, the most harm you can really do to them is not greasing it every now and then, the only other way to hurt one is to overload it and squeal the belt, which will overheat it and you will need to let it cool down before it will work again. For steep hill driving I would also find a smaller driver sprocket and install a heavier spring in the driven pulley.

thanks for the info. how much work is it to change the springs? (i am not very experienced with this stuff) do they make a 10T driver sprocket in 35 pitch or only 40/41? because i currently have 35 chain.

I have never, ever slipped the belt even under full throttle from a full stop (6.5 horse power)

If I park on a 45* hill (ditch) and gun it it jumps and slips and overheats, I can make it out but I gotta let it sit 10 minutes before it works good again. But this is an older cat99 with the older 5/8" belt not the newer beefier 3/4" 30 series.
