Okay cool. I would hate to see you try to take those out later.

I wonder if POR15 would weld bolts in. I know if you get any on the lip of the can. That can will never open again now matter how big a screwdriver you have. I ripped the can open right avove the seal with that stuff trying to pry the lid off.

The red isn't like welding, but it's quite close. I put in on my JS nut because the rotation of it caused the nut to back off and fly off a few times, so I was like screw this...red loctite. I went to disassemble the JS, couldn't get the nut off, so I had to take off the retaining ring, and remove the JS by pushing it through the driven, through the sprocket, and then through the outer bearing. From there, I had to put it in a vice and use a wrench with a small pipe. Even then, the JS wanted to turn in the vice. I had to clamp it in on the keyway so it would grip the keyway and not spin. It finally broke without adding heat.

Oh yea. You would end up bending allen wrenches to hell. I did use a copious amount, but it surely "locked it tite". I was tired of losing my JS nut, now I just used a lot of blue to seal it. I tried with the wrench while holding the brake pedal down and with the kart wedged so the tires wouldn't spin so I could crank on the JS nut, but that failed so I ended up with my reverse disassemble.

i use red loctite all the time even on 3/8 bolts
it is for areas high levels of stress and u can get the bolt out with a standard 9/16 spanner

u proberly coated the thread of the jack shaft bolt like it was anti seize when u only wanted two small dots

also u may want to watch out tman as everything loctite sells is in a red bottle
red
blue
gasket sealent
pipe sealent
and so on

just the crotch panel and a few personal touches and I think I might convert it to Two wheel on rear like a kart/quad thingy. It would be the easyest to do to make this more stable. But then I'll have to go back through ALL my videos and relable them as "quad" also.

blue : that is what I'll do. but after I paint it.

B : the rear is fine except two things 1) I should put on two shocks. 2) the disc hub is not machined right. it is off set a little that causes the disc to wable and in turn makes a spot of the disc always rub against one of the pads as it rotates.

Nice job t-man.

You can get cable stops at Ace for pretty cheap. Also the clevis pin? You can drill a hole on the end of the clevis. Then tap and use that as cable stop. Notice how I drilled the hole on the end of the clevis and used a little bolt for the cable stop?

Do not look at the cable stop on top of the clevis. Notice the bolt on the clevis..... If you drill the end of the clevis you can make simple cable stop. I used a the normal cable stop on top for extra holding power. if you look real close at pic #2 you will see two holes. I was going to use two bolts but I drilled them to close. If you get them right you can have double cable stop built right into the clevis.

Big: I remember you posting that befor. I was thinking of that very thing when I was putting this to gether but I had no stops or any threading taps. I'm going to try to get down to Ace hardware tomorro and get some cable stops.

Yah no taps would put a damper on it fast huh?

I would clean up your cable ends for sure though. I am pondering ideas right now about how fix your throttle end at the twist throttle. The only thing off the top of my head is solder a ball on the end of the cable. Never done but just wondering if that would work.
