With a flat pitman arm they need to rotate on a horizontal axis which would require the holes thru the ends to be vertical. This can be easily done by turning the ends. I'm not sure where the issue is here.

okay soi have decided i am going to stick with my plan of putting in the U-joint like my pics showed..... the problem is this i have no clue were to get a U joint that would fit over a 5/8 inch shaft and i also dont know how i would attach it (i thought i could just put a bolt throught the u joint and through the shaft but it proabably doesnt work that way) soryy i am knew to this so i am really confused on how to do this

get a keyed uni from a shop that sells parts for small machinery

u guys seem to a a shop for everythig so u should be right

i reckon u should get a car rack & pinion and shorten it

it will save u alot of time and its really easy to do

i put two hours of work into mine form disassembaly to reassembaly

just make sure u have all the parts before u start as it took me a few days of sitting around waiting to finish

Big, we just hold the camera out in front of us. Make sure that your elbow is going down and not off to the side. Point the camera at you and guess where your at in the picture in relation to ththe lens as its facing you...Guess work.
