Hey, just as a sidenote, I was checking through the latest edition of Popular Mechanics (or Popular Science, can't remember which). A couple of geniuses (good this time) got the bright idea of making a TracMobile bike with a snowmobile track in the rear and a ski up front - looks like a mini-chopper for the snow! Everything they used on the bike was from Dumpster-diving except for some miscellaneous hardware. I can't find the online link to the thing, but if you're out and happen to see the magazine, check it out. Definitely radical and totally cool.

Believe it or not i was thinking about making a snowbike at the beggining of the season, plans were to get a track driven snowblower and make a minibike frame...but the lack of track driven snowblowers around here (and the cost on ebay) made me decide to simply make a normal mini bike.

Kenny, this engine wouldnt last long on meth haha, shes got over 5k on her (Almost 5k on the speedo, and who knows how long that didnt work for).

EDIT:

HOLY MOTHER OF JESUS!

Just put a better belt on there (the one on there was pretty worn, the "teeth" had almost 1/4" flat spots), and man did it wake up, acceleration is insane now, and i can pull up the front end a little if i put my weight on the back.

5k ain't that much for a sled

5k is plenty when u can assume half of it was jumping, and beating around at WOT...

With the new belt it is still kinda slow, compared to any liquid sleds, but for a 440 fanner she goes good. Before the newerish belt it was barely better than my neighbors ovation 340.

Prolly wont get paint till summer, if at all. Dont feel like heating up the shop just to paint the hood. On the list is new skis (gotta get that kid to bring them to school, he keeps makin excuses, maybe tomorrow...), some grips for the running boards, a small tool box to hold the start rope and some basic tools, and maybe a new back shock.

I also have to find some better epoxy to seal up the gas tank, the stuff i got doesn't work for ****.

PermaTex Plastic Welder. It comes in a double syringe, so you just squeeze out equal parts, mix it together, and then work it into any of the holes in the tank. I did that on a goped tank with four holes, none of 'em have leaked since ....

Got the new skis on, one last picture. my shop teacher has a plastic welder so i can fix my gas tank. Shocks are killing my back, but its still pretty fun to beat around on, starts 2nd or 3rd pull. Was drifting around in the slush, mud, and puddles yesterday.

Now ya gotta get the left side working .... cool ride! Glad she's running well, and you're having fun.

Btw, who cares if the seat is a little long? Just means you have room for a passenger, preferably of the feminine kind .... :D

Heres a little video update on the jag, got a recoil and did some more tweeking, works pretty good now. Put over 10 miles on her in my back yard during a snowstorm last wednesday.

So far i have around $50 into it ($20 skis, $22 recoil, and some fuel line), plus the time and materials used to fix the other kids sled (probably over 10-15 hours total+a few pieces of flat stock, some nuts and bolts, and some flux core wire).
