Well I guess TCs weren’t common yet, but still frustrating.
your Clutch will mount outboard and wrong I bet. can you re-gear it clutch/sprocket? axle rusted in and never coming out? there Is sooooo Much to think about. 10t-60t gearing wasn’t enough for me after I spent the money. So more cash for two 14t sprockets. on this low buck live axle thread 10t-60t gearing isn’t enough so more of my money for a 12t clutch face. on my margay the gearing isn’t enough I want a torque converter. all this going on and I wanna build a predator. if I wouldn’t of spent so much on clutches and gearing to upgrade the crap a year later anyway I would have a built on on the back of both karts.

Hindsight is 2020. I have different riding conditions then you so 10-60 will pr work for me. I got a lot of hills and I need low end grunt. Looks like when I get homeI’m spending some time testing and messing around with the kart. But from wha I think my clutch would be outboard. Not good. 1ST things 1ST I’m going to look over all the things you’ve done to your streakers.
It looks like I’m in it for the long haul but in the end it will be worth it. I need to get off the couch anyway. :smartass:

Also, what car is that engine in on your profile picture?

Good call right back to full circle. You need to take a tape measure and get me direct measurements of how big your stock engine plate is.... there’s nothing saying you have to use the stock mount. if your stock streaker plate is big enough and you drill six holes you could slide everything over on the wheel horse plate. and use the stock 5hp engine mount slides. don’t buy that plate as I’m not sure it would even work. But later if you get me measurements and we Can eyeball it you might possibly be able to fit a torque converter down the road.

I’m going to pick up a predator when I get the chance, the progression of speed available is unmatched. I’ll get those measurements when i get home.

Okey-dokey, here we go. The engine on it is an old Clinton 3.5 that I had lying around. The clutch is an old #35. Crankshaft is 2inch. Sorry about the upside down picture. Let me know if you need other measurements.A97AD919-E3E4-4388-9BFF-64481DECF138.jpegimage.jpg0D87E1E0-2B47-4D26-9088-5F87FC8B4133.jpeg75417CCA-7840-448B-BAB5-B8AE2343FC2D.jpegEE2BCAC2-0701-4278-B0C9-4D59500C07C2.jpegA8ACF328-E1EB-4EF4-9A31-FB9EFC943536.jpeg21154E12-0833-4D91-AC4C-53595EF685FE.jpeg

ok so using my eyeballs your engine mount plate is actually wider then both of mine. Now also I can see the mount sets on top of the pipes. that is also good. now the real question would be how long your engine mount plate is from front to back. if It’s at least 12“ long then this wheelhorse Plate might help you fit a torque converter. it’s all way to much of a gamble. a t/q and mount plate that might not fit... stick with the clutch.

I’m just looking at all options... can you take the linkage arm out of the brake band take the sprocket/band drum off flip it and put it back on. Then take the rod off and also flip it at the pedal? as long as it comes apart and your for sure you can stab it back together flipping them Might get you where you need to be.

You said somthing in on of my threads awhile back
Here’s some in depth pictures of my braking system. It looks to me like I just take off the wheel and I get access. but that center nut is gonna be :furious2: to get off. It’s sitting in penetrating oil right now.D37D988D-0F09-488F-A78D-BD72F36BB233.jpeg767AF15B-AB5B-43A5-A69C-8CBFC2067DA5.jpeg3AEB2B51-70BE-4210-A93C-94AEB24A3417.jpegA4DCCAAB-6A75-4359-9087-D2C7D549B8EC.jpeg

that is just a sprocket/brake hub. so ya if you can flip it from picture one to be oriented like picture two and realign the brake rod then the sprockets should line up with an inboard clutch now.

Looks like I got rained out. :censored:
Well I guess that’s more time for soaking in penetrating oil.

I guess I just remove the left wheel? I might have gotten really lucky on this kart, it looks kinda like it has split rims. Maybe not, though. According to the guy I bought it from is was bought from an estate sale of some guy. It was probably a cruiser for the grandkids.

Edit: that sprocket looks terrifying.
