Strange engine issue...

Arrite so heres the situation, the kart will not turn on when the engine is level (doesnt make a diff whether the rear is in the air or not), HOWEVER, it will start perfectly fine when it is somewhat tilted. Yes it is really really weird, so I made a video illustrating what exactly I'm talking about. You'll notice that when the engine is in the normal position, nothing happens, but as soon as I make it tilt, it starts right up.

BTW, its a Tecumseh 5hp engine (OH195XA)

Take the carburetor stomp the **** out of it and buy a new one lol. mabey clean the carb and then adjust the float.

Your engine may have a low oil level, shut off sensor. Check and see if your low on oil...

already checked it, oil level is fine.

I cant hardly beleve a carb issue would be affected by the tiny bit you tilted it. Maybe your low oil sensor is somehow defective, does it have a 2 wire plug going to it. If so you could try bypassing the sensor as a quick easy test. (just jumper the 2 engine-end wires together)

just look for some wires coming out of the crank case.

the actual sensor is probably inside the engine itself, authough ive seen them incorporated into the dipstick before, in which case there will be some wires coming out of the dipstick. best thing to do is to remove the sensor but that usually requires opening the engine up.

just unplug the LOS, that will disable it, then try to start it. You won't want it on the kart anyway.

Yep im with everyone else here. Def sounds like the low oil sensor is trippin. U dont have to remove it, just cut the wires. They come out of the crankcase usually on the left side when looking at the crank side of the engine. You dont want the low oil sensor anyway when its on a kart as it will always trip out when the oil sloshes around so dont be scared to cut the wires.

If it's not the oil sensor check the wiring around the suspension.

Low Oil Shutdown Switches
Remove the blower housing and disconnect the LOS lead
from the ignition module. Reinstall the blower housing
and spin the engine over. If spark occurs now,
replace the LOS switch. If no spark is seen, replace
the ignition module (diag. 57).

Also, check your oil level, although it may just be a defective sensor but you might also be low on oil.
