hey guys we've all seen engines that say 4 cycle or 2cycle, but shouldn't it be 4 stroke or 2 stroke because one cycle is like intake compression ignition power exaust right? what do you think it should be stroke or cycle?

And I suppose that since "motors" are electric powered and "engines" are internal combustion - you probably believe a gas powered 2 wheeled bike should be called an "engine-cycle"

Kaos, your mistake was using the word "argument". Were all old, and don't have the energy to argue !

Both are just shortened versions of "two-stroke cycle" and "four-stroke cycle." All six versions have clear meanings and are acceptable. There was no argument presented nor is there one to be made.

Suck, squeeze, bang, blow
(Intake), (Compression), (Ignition), (Exhaust). Easiest way to remember.
