Yep! And they are!

Gonna start building my fab table for frame this weekend. Don’t have a fancy metal one with clamp holes, so build mine for one time use.

Finally got some time to start designing frame. Here is what I came up with so far. Time to start getting metal up and going!

Are those computer generated drawings? If so, what software are you using.

One of the boys in the family is the auto cad guy at the engineering firm where he works.
He has refurbed an older hot gamer box for me & is helping me move towards a design program of some sort.

Has spiked my interest in what different guys are using for their design work.

$olidWorks is pretty much the de facto standard and the most valuable skill to have for paying work, but good luck teaching yourself how to use it. I use AutoCAD because that's all the local college offered way back and it really is easier to learn IMO. Not as powerful, but I'm not using flow simulation or finite elemental analysis either.

There are also free options like FreeCAD and LibreCAD.

Yeah this is free cad software. I only use it so I can, measure angles and cut lengths. Has worked in the past. I was a draftsman years ago. ACAD is way easier to learn than solid works.

I'm not going for anything too exotic...however would be nice to be able to 3D something like my cage in design phase.

I typically use wood to do my mockups. Just for spacing, leg room, etc. slow going right now because I’m just collecting all my parts. Nothing worse than having to cut and reweld because of a part size you didn’t account for. Should be able to post more pics this weekend.

Finally back to the project after a long unwanted break. More to come.

So with going with a different engine, are you going to keep the same gear ratio as you were going to run with the Lifan 200cc or you going to do something else?

Going with same 40 tooth rear sprocket. So it will be 17 tooth on transmission, 40 rear

Smoking a brisket and pork shoulder today, so plenty of garage time to finish welding out main frame! But first gotta clean up the shop!
