to fix this mees of starting ideas, just make it direct drive and push start it

I agree, just push start it. I did that to mine when the clutch was locked up. Just don't set the idle wicked high. It's the best way for this particular situation.

Well good news is I have a friend who is fairly confident he can rig a safe method of starting it up. It should be tuesday - thursday. If not I've ordered a direct drive sprocket and I'll slap it on there.
