Is the brake disc Welded to the Axle? Not recommended.

No Governor and heavier Valve springs means you need a billet Connecting rod.
The valve springs will allow higher revs than the stock Rod can handle.

It is not, there are spacers that hold it there... the welded part you see is the spacer welded on the axle... I had is slid off all the way off the axle to clean it. I do not own a welder (yet) so I just left it as it came off the assembly line.

The connecting rod is next, this was just easy stuff to do and I figured why not. I will mostly be off road with this kart not going anywhere fast enough to cause any damage, I just like tinkering with engines and these were cheap mods that I wanted to do them.

Cool.
I see you also have your Kill switch ready.
Here is another way of doing that too. If not... since you are already done with yours.
Keep that little Gold box, or mail it to me.

Eric,
That little gold box is the ignition module! You kinda need that for the engine to run. Club Car golf carts used to burn those out all the time if you used an autolite spark plug.

Uh... No! My Greyhound runs without it.
Just part of the kill switch.
I think you are thinking of a different box.
My 79cc Predators do not have that box or a low oil sensor.

I may be wrong but it is not the ignition module, it was part of the low oil sensor and this piece would send a ground to the coil to shut the engine down if it got a signal from the oil sensor that there was no oil. Basically witchcraft happens in this box, and when you take a hard corner the bang stops.

That is Correct. Except it is Magic not Witchcraft.:D
Thing is it is nice to use that little box with a momentary kill switch button.
Without that box a momentary switch won't work.

The kart is finally finished... the power train is done (i need a new belt, that is on order, and the seat has been made. This is my very first seat ever and I was not very careful around the edges nor did I do any fancy stitching so that the corners look nice. I was going to get it done so that I can ride it. From here on out it will be mostly just upgrading the Predator, not because I need the power (it has way better pickup than the Robin/Subaru 126cc it came with), but because I like to work on engines and its fun to do so. Anyway pics below.

That sucker is clean! How much cushion do those springer spindles provide?

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thanks! Have not take it off road yet so I am not sure how much the spring they provide. They seem to absorb some bumps but it is still a solid rear.

You do nice work, Frosty Dan! Clean and immaculate, like your other toys and your garage.

What are you rambling on about now?

Love the kart clean and simple....I'd hate if the washer dryer were in the garage. I don't even like beach stuff in mine. For some reason in my mind it should be tools only....

I absolutely hate the washer/dryer in the garage, but this being the first house I purchased I wanted something semi cheap where I could learn home improvement without messing up a brand new house. Plus this way I am building equity so I can buy a nicer house and have a pretty big down payment.

Garage is especially messy now, just started a mini bike project and there are parts everywhere. Once I get these kart/bike projects done (does that ever happen in real life???) I have to clean it up.
