Well, I am back on this project now, working on getting the clutch/shift lever rigged up at the moment. In the mean time, Does anyone know an easy way to wire up a push button for the electric start? all I have is this mound of wires and I am no good with wiring. The motor is from one of those cheap Roketta dirt bikes.

That is pretty much what I had in mind, I just dont know how to tap into this mess of wires.
On another note I got the shifter finished, parts taken from this edger i picked up at a yard sale for $25 and then sold the motor off of it for $40.

I may scrap this junk heap and start something else. I noticed my welds where I had stretched the frame are cracking and I havent even started the motor yet. I guess I should have practiced my welding first..... Not to mention since I had no luck finding the correct cylinder for this motor I am not really motivated to finish it anymore.

As for the electric start thing, You need to tap into the solenoid. Which is the round cylinder looking thing with the 2 nuts on top (furthest left in the picture of the harness.)

There should be a smaller gauge wire coming off that thing and 2 larger ones. Apply power to the small one (should be red) to engage the solenoid (essentially its a giant relay) and that'll crank the starter.

Thanks, I will give it a whirl and see what happens

Could you put the muffler on the other side of the bumper? I would hate to see you spin out and smash the muffler and breaking the head on your engine. Looks like there is room. Hard to tell for sure though. Sweet kart
