Working on my first build. This week I'll be tackling the rear axle. I'm foreseeing a potential issue with the sprocket. My tires are 10"diameter on a 1" live axle and most of the 60T sprockets i'm finding are nearly 10" as well. I imagine that will pose quite a problem. What sprocket (size, type, etc), should I be looking at?

What's the tooth count and pitch of the clutch?
If your tires are only 10", you can get away with a smaller sprocket.

Hello...
Depending on the Configuration/space available.. a jackshaft might be in order...
Itll allow to reduce the OD of the rear sprocket, and better tune the ratio for the rear tire size...
What ever the ratio, the clutch will have to be the same type as your sprockets...
A typically start ratio is a 6:1...

Post some pics as to your ride....

The intention is for this to be an electric build. The only thing I have so far for the rear is the axle and tires. Just thinking ahead with this potential sprocket issue.

and what makes you think you need a 60T axle sprocket if I may ask?

what's the weight of the final vehicle,
what rpms is the motor running at,
what mechanical power does the motor provide

etc.etc.etc

if bad comes to worse you'll need a jackshaft to compound gear
so a 2:1 motor to jackshaft ratio and a 3:1 jackshaft to axle ratio
would still put you in a 6:1 final ratio (going with what you likely have in mind the 6:1 overall for combustion engine karts)

BUT in order to make a good sprocket and gear ratio suggestion we first need to know the rest
(weight, power...)
