I can’t leave anything alone, lol. I figured I’d post up because a lot of guys like to run the predators and that’s a free mod that a lot of people can benefit from, well, that and I like playing with my dyno

Strapped the new rotaderp to the dyno and broke it in. No numbers yet because my torque cell has gone bad. I’ll have to get another one and then it’s on.

The valves and rod stayed in it through break in so I swapped to an open pipe and will be ordering an air filter kit for it in a few minutes. Might as well go ahead and void the warranty, lol.

looks good man. Here are some dyno sheets. Some sheets make you feel good, and some are legit. these ones were pulled when i had a pretty good idea of what to do, so they may not be 100% accurate.

Also, how are you liking that wideband? ive never seen one with an extension that long. Are you able to get a good reading off of it like that?

I just use a dyno as a tool to measure improvement, the numbers are meaningless to me, the % of improvement is what I’m looking for. That’s an innovate MTX-L wideband and it gets good readings with that long of a bing without protruding into the exhaust stream. I figure open pipe, jet it, and then I’ll start with the timing to see how much more I can squeeze out of a stock predator. I’m sure it won’t be much, but every little bit helps.

well said! I still wanna see some numbers though when you get a new torque a ma bob.

Youd be surprised how much of a difference the cam makes, just sayin.

My dyno is very basic being homemade and all, It only measures torque, but that works fine for me because torque is all I’m really interested in. I had a book by John Linginfelter years ago that stated “build for torque and horsepower will take care of itself” that made sense to me and has always worked. I could calculate horsepower by using the torque and RPM, but honestly I don’t care what it is.

Parts are still rolling in. One of the tires on Kart 3 had a hole in it so I ordered a new one, got the chain guard and air filter kit in too. I’m still waiting on the torque cell, tracking says it should be here by the end of next week. I’ll probably have time to button up the banshee and get more done on kart 3 Monday and Tuesday after work since the basketball games have finally stopped until summer. We got runner up in the district finals and had a year that was 26-6. The boys were all heartbroken that they didn’t win.

On a stock clone with a good head I was seeing 10.4 lb/ft. The rings were shot in that motor and it smoked like a BBQ grill, but on 30% nitromethane it ran with the best of them at the local racetrack in stock appearing class. I’m curious to see what kind of numbers the predator makes and just how much can be gained by fine tuning it.

Not sure if I ever shared this, but it shows the dyno the last time I used it. It sat for over a year when I moved to Florida, but still seems to work fine.

I was building a bracket for the master cylinder for kart 3 and the drill bit broke in half and plowed through my fingernail, and all the way through my finger then ripped out of the side. Good times.

I used a Yamaha warrior caliper and a Kawasaki motorcycle master cylinder. It took some head scratching to make it all work, but I got a hydraulic disk brake done for $13.

Got the seat mounted, the motor on, and the chain made for kart 3. I now have three go karts that run, move, and stop under their own power. It won’t be long now. Still gotta make floorpans for the badmax and kart 3, move the steering wheel and pedals on the banshee, and go over a few things on the badmax. It feels good to be this close.
