I’m in love. I may have to step my motor game up now, but what I already have will have to work for now. I have to stop spending money for a minute and recover a little.

Got my motor built, and frankly, I got my butt kicked trying to start it. I was trying to just heat cycle it on 93, but there’s too much compression. It was kicking back so bad that it broke the hide on my hand, and nearly took my nipple off. I ended up backing the ignition timing down to 12 degrees to even be able to start it. Even at that it’s really snappy and sounds all kinds of strong. I built it for methanol and I think I’m going to have to go straight to it rather than breaking it in on gas.
Overall I’m very happy with it though. Even with the slow timing it’s as snappy as any that I’ve heard.

It kicked back and jerked the pull starter out of my hand and hit my nipple at aproxamatly 900,000 mph on the way back in. It hit my hand another time. It was unpleasant.

Are you sure the pull starter isn't a beaver. I mean you never know what comes off those Chinese assembly lines.

Got it tuned we’ll enough on methanol to be able to pull start it. It sounds mean, and I still have about 4 degrees of timing that I need to put in it. I modified a stick predator carb for methanol and loaded it and pulled it through on the dyno. I didn’t lean on it or rev it real high and it made over 19 lb-ft of torque. Once it’s fine tuned this should be a nasty little motor. I’m pretty happy with its performance so far and I’ve just barely broken it in.

The banshee is sitting on four new slicks, I got the engine transferred from kart 3 to the badmax. I rejected the motor for the wedge but haven’t had a chance to fire it up yet because of running short on time.

Did a little more jetting on the motor for my wedge. The burn on the plug looks like I can get away with a few more degrees of timing, but I’m going to leave it alone for now and see how it runs. I’ll put in some time tonight and see if I can get the badmax buttoned up, and the body for the Banshee is supposed to be here tomorrow.

The first time I put a kart up on the lift I was just being funny, now I’m downright spoiled to it. I’m about to put all new wheel bearings in the banshee, swap to a 68t axle sprocket, and throw some new gold on gold chain on there while I’m at it.
The badmax is done. I’m going to add a couple of body braces, but all it needs right now is a bath, it’s ready to rip.
