Hey need your opinion GUYS!!

Do you think it is worth the hassle to build a all wheel drive Go kart on a race frame, with slicks, 2 engines?

I have the frame and willing to figure it all out and do it, but what do you guys think we are talking speed wise,

And if the fwd engine fails or has trouble just dis connect that chain and you still have a 2 wheel drive cart.

NEED OPINIONS HERE< PROS AND CONS> I am on the fence about building it and I am leaning towards but WANT SOME OPINIONS!!!

well personally if I was leaning towards an all wheel drive kart, I would use the single motor setup some of the guys recommended. Not sure how to connect to the front axle.. But Im sure someone on here knows how. I guess it all depends on how bad you want an all wheel drive kart. Me personally I like a single engine, rear wheel drive kart that gets me through the woods and over jumps quickly. but thats just me. your frame is designed really for going fast and low to the ground..

Mate, if you could sort out some of the kinks, then that thing would fly (depending on gearing) and allow you to accel. much quicker. As for sorting out kinks, come up with some designs, and we can all offer our input on that.
Best of luck to you mate.

if your engine or engines are powerful enough and you have the right gearing you could pull some sick donuts with the awd and if you make it 4 wheel steer too you could do cyclones!!!!!!

It would handle very well and climb up hills awesome with 4wd although, the extra weight from all the 2nd motor and other things to make it 4wd may make it handle the same as a 2wd kart. Gotta think about the weight of the thing as well.

I think maybe Jason is looking more at the complexity of the project. Correct me if Im wrong but it would be cool !! Personally I think you should do it Jason. If you do not like the end result then modify, modify, modify. If anything it will be something fun to show off to your fellow soldiers. (in case you guys did not know, Jason is serving in the US Army right now as a Helicopter Mech.) AND you will learn allot. Then maybe later build a rear wheel kart as another project using the experience. In the end it is your decision. Im sure these great guys and myself will give you advice along the way. Right guys...

Good luck Jason. Keep us posted.
