I have just had the busiest non productive week of my life! I spent all week running around like a headless chook & achieved almost nothing!

Before I continue, let me remind you, I'm a full time carer (& a lazy turd) so, I don't usually do anything productive before lunchtime anyway...

Monday: The only productive part of the week but, still a headache, filled in at wheelworks, a community group I volunteer with teaching young teens to build, repair & maintain bicycles...

Tuesday: Was meant to pick up 3 push mowers & bought; drove halfway there before the seller had a change of plans :censored: 1.5 hours...

Wednesday: Picked up the mowers I was meant to pick upon Tuesday. Also picked up a used radiator for my car which is still in the boot (trunk) of my car plus a few other small things... 4 hours

Thursday: My phone decided to die; I'd been considering buying a new one so, the phone made the decision for me; off to the phone shop. 3 hours!

Friday: While setting up my new phone, I realised they had sold me the wrong phone so, after calling, I headed back to the shop so they could swap it out, which meant tearing up the sales contract & starting again... on the day the iPhone 6 was released. 2 hours

Amongst all that, I did manage to look at one of the mowers, a key start 2 stroke Victa that needs a carb & a battery; I discovered that the engine runs & the key start mech works (unfortunately, not at the same time)...

I can only hope that the next week will be a bit more "sedate" but, it's school horrordays & I have "the little princess" for a few days :worried2:

I may even find time to fit the new radiator...

Beautiful day left behind...

Wife get sick, rain whole day...

So at 5 pm said to myself, screw everything and let take kart for spin...

Wont fire up... Spark plug wet, there is spark...
After 2 000 attempt, i said, lets check spark again ...

Well, there was spark but only to inside of sparkplug, not outside...

So what is my point?

Never ever change 5yr old spark plug and buy new if old still works...

Did I 'Ruben'...

One has to wonder why it is that some ppl, in the entertainment/informative business, will rudely, answer a question... that was never asked nor wondered... :censored:

I mean if there was some sorta 'history' or something... but ...

A guy I came across, as an acquaintance(NOT from here)... I asked if there was anything he saw bout one of my karts, I should do/not do, bout my current/latest upgrade/build, cause he's been known to build things aswell... I still dont know what he thinks of the build but he gave his .02cents of what he thought of my abilities... yyyyeeeeeaaaaa.... UNfriend/UNsubscribe/UNliked:2guns:

......................................................................................

On a separate note... heard a guy got divorced for his 3rd time in his life. He took all the wedding bands and got em melted down into a pendant... a "screw hanging from a noose"... I cant find a pic... but yall got imaginations.:cheers2:

Hehe.. I follow Mark Crilley on yt.. who had a "how do you handle criticism" video just last week...
different bred of human (artist, not fabricator) but I think the same rules apply to most situations.

Aaanyways, I don't know what he said and in what way he said it...
I understand that you're upset though..
maybe if you let it sink in for a few days, you'll still be able to benefit from his comment.
Maybe there is something he noticed, that you can improve in your abilities.
A nicer weld, a cleaner paintjob, whatever, something that needs only practice and patience...*shrugs*

I still think that you can do a cleaner upholstery for example;
and you didn't liked that comment either back then ;)
Maybe my lingual inability to get it cross the pond correctly... nevermind....
And your second attempt was better.. (the practice part) and the third will be better than that and so on and so forth (the patience part) :D

So whatever he said, try to get the best off it ;)
Maybe he lacks the ability to communicate his 'findings' well enough *shrugs*

Last night, I was going to grab a cut off piece of tubing I've been kicking around the garage for the past 2 weeks. It's 8"+ long 2" wide and an inch in height.... Not small at all..... Well, yesterday morning it was under the 32. Yesterday afternoon, I kicked it to the front of the 32, but still under it. Well, last night, it was gone. I mean not any where in my garage gone..... I spent an hour and a half looking for it..... It's gone. GRRRRRRRR
So, I take off the engine mounting bracket from the engine, to modify it to accept said piece of tubing. I took it off and put it in my chair, along with everything else I'm taking to work interest morning.... I then proceed to look for said tubing, again......not there..... It's gone... O well, I'll eye ball it, I say to myself......
Ok, this morning, guess what I can't find now..... ? ! You betcha! The engine bracket is now missing. :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::surrender:
I was the last one in there last night and the first one in there this morning........ I'm looking at security cameras for inside my garage now. I swear I have a spirit or ghost or SOMETHING inmy garage, F ing with me..... These parts will pop up somewhere else in the house, later. That's what always happens. I found my pry bar in my bathroom cabinet once. I was the only one home that week. Was sitting in a chair using it, when it disappeared, and I had never gotten up from the chair. So it HAD to be with in arms reach..... A day and a half later, and it's in my bathroom cabinet........ ????????? My build is on hold till I get this sorted out....the body keeps getting moved from position on the frame. And it's got 4 big clamps holding it. But everyday, it's off by an inch or more, always different ways.... It's not from bumping into it. I tried to mimick the movement.... You'd have to hit it hard or undo the clamps and then put them back....

Sounds suspicious..
you sure your not just too old to remember where you put it ;)

I heard about a woman lately that had issues finding her keys, her wallet, purse.. you name it.
And she started drawing faces onto everything.
As stupid as this may sound.. she now claims to know where her stuff is.

give the parts a name (Roger the Prybar, Mario the motor mount etc..)
that way you include a different part of your brain once you're looking for Roger...
well that was the 'scientific explanation' the article included.
I can't tell if that's valid or repeatable.. but at least it's not implausible ;)

Well yes.. OR a camera :D

Ein Kobold? :lolgoku:

Happens to me on a regular basis. Use a tool, put it down. Look for the tool 5 minutes later and it's gone. I suspect I am my own gremlin. And of course, 3-4 days later, looking for something else, (or shortly after buying its replacement), the tool appears . . . not necessarily where I thought I had left it. I suspect my dogs are filching things when I'm not looking, but they claim the cat did it. I don't have a cat.

Jim, perhaps you've been invaded by packrats? Raccoons?

Well, my dog in the front, can only reach what's on the tool box, and I find those things in the 25 foot radius of his chain..... It's funny, he says it is the neighbors cat..... :lolgoku:
No, I know it's not "me".... My wife has seen this happen, from across the room. I don't get up, yet the thing I'm looking for, and just had, is now gone..... It can only be within arms reach, but is no where. I just found the engine mount. It was pressed on to the top of the engine, with great force. Enough to spread out the "ears" where the bolts go through. It wasn't my kids, nor my wife.... Dam sure not me....
IDK, I'm at a loss.... The tubing is still missing. I bet it will turn up tomorrow or the next day..... :surrender:

i do this regularly at home
but not at work
even though i have far more tools spread out over a whole dump truck with all the differant levels and hiding spots i rarely loose a tool

but at home i can have two differant screw drivers on the kitchen table with only the thing im working on on the table and hey presto one screw driver just evaporates

lost a ball pein hammer the other day
turned up as a noise in the washing machine
now i have a clean hammer

how does it happen

not trying to make myself sound like a nutter
but iv seen enough to not believe in spirts but i certainly dont rule them out

and my house well exceeds the century mark so who knows

did u remove the mount then put it on the engine then lean on it to stand up
or is one of your kids telling fibs and they've stood on it to reach a shelf

@ fowler.... Nope, I was sitting on my bucket when I took the mount off. No need to hold onto anything for leverage to get up. No, I didn't stand on the engine, it's not stable enough to even try. No,could not have been my kids for several reasons. Too small, young. Engine too unstable to stand on,tips if you touch it. They ain't heavy enough.
I had to use a 5lb hammer to beat the ears back so the 2&13/16" gap was there again. I needed that for measurements, why would I intentionally distort it. My wife, she's been happy and in a good mood. No conflicts at all at the moment.... Or even recently....
@Pat.... I already ruled that out.... NO meds. And my wife hides the key to my garage at night. I can't get in till morning, when I wake her for it.... It's not me..... I've been known to sleep walk, that's why I took that precaution..... Remember when I "bored" my carb, in my sleep?
