I wouldn't term "taking the prize" as a win with this in front of you; I also wouldn't wish any fate with that particular capitol "C" on even my worst enemy (the enemy gets to drown in the cardboard box of butterflies.).

Man, this sucks. I've lost two grandparents to various forms of that, had two cousins fight it to a draw, and have my dad in one of the long term study groups because he was an operations worker at Dow Chemical in Midland, MI, during Vietnam where he helped make Agent Orange.....

Chris, right here and now, you have my best wishes, hopes, and anything else that might help.

Oh, man. Sorry to hear about the kidney situation, Chris. Good thing life comes with two kidneys. Living with one missing ain't too bad; just treat it right. Hopefully they've caught it relatively early. Good luck, and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I just want to give you one piece of advice that may help you.If it turns out to be Cancer, the best possible treatment is a positive attitude. Not only is this my point of view, but the view of many of the best Cancer doctors in this town.

I really don't like to get into my troubles too much, but the point is not a grand prize winner.
I meant for this to be a day to day thing. If you have had a bad day, please post. It's not whether you top the all-time worst day, it's THAT day.
I'll go ahead and post this:You might be having a bad day if the highlight of your day is shoving n Exacto knife in the roof of your mouth.
Chris felt a bit better for posting, and I think a lot of members felt better because they realized that maybe their problems weren't quite as bad.
This is what the thread is supposed to do.
It's supposed to be a day to day thing-and not meant to dwell on the downside, but use that as a way to accentuate the positive.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have an Exacto knife to shove in my mouth, wish me luck.

Yeah- I can't even say I really meant to do that, it just kinda came out. Putting it out there actually helped me wrap my head around it.

Me too! Only mine was today.Yesterday (when you posted this) I wasn't sure I was going to live. I was very sick and in a lot of pain.
Today I not only feel MUCH BETTER but I also just got a job.
So that is the best thing about our existence beeing divided by sections of time, whether it be minutes, hours, or days.
This reminds me of a couple of Hollywood stories. One was a Star Trek episode and the other a small part of the Matrix.
Both addressed the fact that without negative impact human existance would be unable to experience true elation.
While I'm all philosophical at the moment, let me tell you, I think I would be just F*ing fine without the downside

I had a little more detailed post and lost it-but over the weekend an acquaintance let slip that there has been a rumor that I got busted trying to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at a liquor store going around for years. He also unwittingly revealed the source.
In the tight knit community of top notch carpenters, millionaires and billionaires don't want just anyone, reputation is everything. Now the source of my struggle to stay employed the last couple of years has become crystal clear.
Just not sure exactly how I'm going to even this score yet. SOoB!!!

Well disproving it is easy. My clean criminal history can prove that. Of course now that may be in jeopardy-I'm smart enough to handle this without physical violence but wouldn't guarantee I have enough control to walk away right now.
The damage is done and there is no way to defend this.
My one solace- bad as things have been for me, I wouldn't want to be in either of these guys shoes.
In the end I don't get even, I get satisfaction. I do it cleanly, with great care and forethought but I give back at least double.

Yes $$$$-eliminating competition and also a little bit of missunderstanding.

Anyway-check this out:
NOT ME-just a story I heard-OK-There was this guy who was cut-off in traffic and the other guy had the nerve to give him"the bird". This guy just smiled and waved back, but made note of the license plate#.
Next month he made some friends in a new bar.Carefully studied them and ALL their tendencies. Meanwhile he was also watching the owner of that licence plate carefully to know his schedule and his home.
Two months later the best candidate"new friend" was drunk and wanting more booze-This make believe guy-let's just call him Doug, just happened to have a case of his favorite brew.........
Needless to say, at that point it wasn't hard to get the fall guy (did I forget to mention it was the end of summer? ) to walk 2 bocks away and make some "improvements" on a certain vehicle such as reducing possible over-inflation of 4 tires with a a sharp instrument through the sidewalls and inserting a potato in the tail pipe so it was inviromentally friendly.
Now if that guy went through that much trouble over a little thing like that I guess I might put forth a little bit more effort on this.
