I have a question: it says ride out in LA. This can't mean Los Angeles. I say this because the predominant color all around is GREEN. It hardley ever rains around here the predominant color is BROWN. no green trees no green grass. maybe it means Louisiana.

Early in the video they're westbound on Whittier Blvd in East Los Angeles. Where is it predominantly brown in L.A.?
Well... I live north east of LA in Big Tujunga cyn. Good place to start with brown. Watching them ride it just does'nt look like LA. If I am incorrect I apologise it is somewhere I have never been.

I was just curious if there were arid parts of Los Angeles I wasn't aware of. Everything I've seen there gets watered and the humidity is pretty high, partly because everything gets watered and it's 0-15mi from the ocean. For me, the palm trees give it away as either L.A. or Florida. It's not green enough for FL IMO, so that left L.A.. There are also street signs visible at points in the video that I recognized.

I spend most of my weekdays in the Antelope Valley, so I'm familiar with desert hellscapes. It's going to be green from now through April, then in the span of a week or two in May it will turn brown and look like it hasn't rained in five years.

The Pauly Stax videos. I just like them because they use regular single seat yard karts and modded clone engines. Which means that it's very obtainable and do-able for the average Joe and in terms of cost. No racing karts with their specialized and costly $$$ parts. I think the yellow engine is a BSP or Box Stock Project engine. A true 196cc Honda clone. Wish I had experience with those.

EDIT: first video is a great demonstration of the Doppler Effect.
EDIT 2: first video at 1:34 shows why I don't like that kind of linkage--when it wears out, the socket pops off the ball and you really can't fix it. Get a real *Heim Joint* and keep it lubed.

Hell Yeah!! This is my idea of go karting! Kind of reminds me of the Urban Guerrilla Go Karting/UGGK group back in the day. This is the idea I had in my head for my next build. Just a classic single seat kart with old school slicks and a powerful motor. This brings me back to my hayday of karting as a kid. Urban mayhem and parking lot races. :D

Mustie1's latest:

EDIT: sure fits the madness part of the thread title. I'm 40+ minutes in and it's looking to offend the folks who say "that thing deserves a full restoration!!" 🙈

Let me help ya out....

Egad I loathe video shorts and the vertical video format they do it in. We are in the widescreen era (and we even see in widescreen) but these neanderthals are taking us backward....:mad2:
Man your not stuck in an era. I am currently in highschool and that stuff drives me crazy. Doesn't sound like age, just common sense. Quite frankly it is rare sense in the modern world.

Edit:
Not saying people in this forum lack common sense, but at my school and in life they certainly do.

I have never seen one in person, but I have been following the Peck Brothers builds on YT. They built one up from one they bought used. Pretty cool stuff. They also build some mini Jeeps from quads.
