I got the lower tubes fit and welded up on the rear hoop. No more "dead tubes"

I also got the new seat supports cut and fit into the frame for the new seats, along with the seat base "wedges"
I needed to make the seat base a wedge to correct the angle of the seat, it was laying too far back for my taste.

I should get the "quick release" alll done tomorrow for the seats. Still have to fab up some brackets for the crotch belt on the new seat belts. Then im replacing a few misc parts on the engine, and adding some more support under the floor where your feet sit. That area is basically just sheet metal and feels a bit flimsy. So ill stiffen it up while I got it open.

I got all the mount welded out and everyting lines up nice. A lot of work to make the seat brackets and frame mount, drill all the holes, make everything fit and work properly. Next ill cut the floor for the new seat brackets, and maybe paint a few things.

These seats were definitely the way to go. I have about 3 inches more legroom to stretch out now. Still need to do an alignment, charge the shocks, install the wheels, weld the battery tray on, and change the oil.

Those are great seats and fairly comfortable too with the padding installed. Just make sure you use a 5 PT. harness with them.

Well, I'm not going to be home very long between jobs. I get about 3 days at the house. So, I got the rear shocks nitrogen filled while I was gone, and installed them today. I think they look great! Springs seem a bit stiff, I'm sure with 2 adults in it things will be just fine. The shocks came with 225# springs, I think 180# would be perfect. I still need to do an alignment, change the oil, get a new battery and install the seat belts.

Had to tear down the throttle bodies, and adjust the butterfly valves, 2 of them were completely closed with the idle screw set at factory position. Cleaned the injectors, and replaced the fuel pump gasket. We will see how she runs today (fingers crossed) I did manage to get it running yesterday for a good 20 minutes, but the idle screw had to be turned up to keep it from dieing. I forgot how loud this thing is.

I had a lot of little bugs that needed worked out, but I'm about 99% done with all of them. Tomorrow I'll get the throttle body all synced up and she'll be running perfect. Then it's time to go beat it like it owes me money.

I took the buggy out for a shake down run, I think it was more fun today than it was 10 years ago. My daughter learned to drive it today! It was a good day.

New light bar. Gone are the 2, little 100watt halogen cat eye lights. The new light puts out about 5 times the light with half the amperage draw.

If you were to build a new one of these what would you change duringthe build progress?

When I built this buggy, I did it a low budget as I could. It's been finished for so long, I've taken a new interest in upgrading the old "budget " parts.

Plus this thing rips! I've ordered new blue silicone CV boots, cuz the sun wreaks havoc on everything and my boots are starting to crack.

I still have a whistle at partial throttle coming from my throttle body. I don't even know how in gonna fix that yet.

Anyone have suggestions on anything you think I need to add ?

If you were to build a new one of these what would you change duringthe build progress?

I would make the front end where the A arms attach longer, so the foot area could be a little wider. Probably lengthen the seat area about 6 inches also.

As it sits I changed quite a bit of it from the plans.

I also made the A arm's longer after I built the original ones to accommodate my shocks.

Probably would also look into maybe a jackshaft instead of cv axles. The amount of travel would be much much greater, and the rear sprocket wouldn't be out back down low. As it sits currently I have a huge rear sprocket with a giant guard. I don't need any rocks eating my chain
