Show off your finished go-kart!

It'd be nice to have a thread on here with a simple compilation of finished karts, ones that you're proud to show the world your hard work, without having to weed through countless pages of chit-chat.

So I propose we use this thread to simply post pics of your finished kart, with a few words about the history of it, without pics of the progress, or repair done to it. A before and after pic would be fine, but let's not clutter it up.

I know that I personally would have loved to see a group of pics when I first started out, ones that would have inspired my future builds.

We've all seen a bazillion store-bought manufactured karts, so I think emphasis for this thread should be on homemade, and obviously modified manufactured karts. Ones that clearly show you put some real thought and work into it.

If you've come across some sweet looking homemade karts on the web - feel free to post those too! Just be sure to give credit to whomever credit is owed to.

A brief history of the kart
Minimal chit-chat (I know we can't help ourselves. lol)
Before and after pics are ok, without progress pics
Pics of other people's homemade karts are ok too!

I built all of these karts from scratch, no plans. Motors range from 6.5hp, 13hp, 16hp, to 56hp.

They are neither pretty, or completely finished, but they are allot of fun.

Both use a HF predator 6.5 and a centrifugal clutch. Future plans include a CVT for both of them. And maybe some paint. The small one is getting the controls moved to center, and Ackerman in the spring.

Great forum !!! Here is a picture of a 250cc Shifter Kart I built in the late 90's. It had a 4 bar and bearing rear with swaybar. I did not like the pipes that where available at the time so I built a custom one that went under the kart axle. I did not like the radiators so I mounted a core under the stealth pod with a remote tank.

OK I found another picture of the 250 shifter.

My Karts

Good idea, I'll chime in.

I'm Kelly and I build what I call, "kart rods"

My first one named Urban Defiance seen here, started life as a one wheel drive fun kart. I got it in a cheap deal and it sat outside for years before I had this idea.

We pushed the steering hoop forward & angled it down more, extended the rear end & droped a live axle on it, other misc welds & we end up with this. The parts come from various sources that include: Old boats, mountain bikes, minibikes, some large plant hangers, a bed frame, a big hinge, an unused kitchen pot, aluminum pieces from a truck log book holder... and three pieces of chain to make one good one. Sprockets came from my spare stuff from racing.

It sports both knobbies & slicks, muffler & straight open pipe for different locations & uses.

She's Urban Defiance, a masterpiece in a true hot-rod style build...with whatever I had at the time.

It does about 50mph and her kung-fu is strong... and yes, the gas tank is still strapped to it with a ratchet tie-down.

it should be inspirational karts that were made by a do-it-yourselfer.

karts don't have to be from this site. just homemade or clearly modified (engine mods don't count cuz they aren't very obvious).

as i stated at the top, it would be great to have a good collection of karts to inspire people. shouldn't be limited to only members on here.

By posting someone else's work, you might inspire someone to try and copy something, and they cant ask the original builder any questions because no one knows who they are.

using the basic kart building concepts it's pretty easy to build something similar, with a little thought and planning. i built my Venoms based on the PGO Bug Racer, all by looking at pictures. i did not set out to make the exact same thing, just something similar. pictures can be very helpful and inspirational!
