with changing out you emulsion tube, main jet, straight piping and high flowing air filter running on premium gas you can make a good 15 - 16 hp

premium gas dont do **** unless you changed your compression ratio... your just burning your money..

Got the frame painted black, and all my stuff mounted on my axle. I haven't been able to do anything because I had to save up for my insurance payment, but now that I've got that I'll get my last tire mounted and get it off the stand. And soon enough buy that old XR.

13 hp clone wouldnt be bad with some stuf....f i like though nice kart and nice desighn. if you want some more getty up idk how your budget is or limitabiltiy to parts but i would bout a 300 or 350 honda carb would do really good with along with a hot coil, lightwieght flyweel,racing rod and piston,port the head and do bigger valves, build a good 2 or 3 stage lenghy pipe, most of it could be done pretty cheap except the flywheel but i would defintly leave the elctric start it comes in handy if you ever have to work on it im gettin carried away i like the cart though it i cant wait to see it done

Thanks, I can't either; I want to drive it! But I found an old XR a while ago that I'm buying. It's a 200, so I'll have no shortage of power, and a gearbox. If I had never ridden a dirtbike before, and not ridden one like every day for the past 3 years, then maybe I wouldn't have a problem with a centrifugal clutch, giving me one speed. But I can't imagine being that limited.

Small update. Finally started up work in the shop again. Schwab won't mount my last rear tire to my wheel cuz the bead is broken. As far as I'm concerned that bead can go fvck itself, it's gonna get mounted, and it's gonna stay on there whether it likes it, or not. I'm gonna take it to a local non-franchisd tire shop once I get some spare cash to see if they'll mount it for me. Schwab gets enough business that they won't allow their employees to install something POTENTIALLY hazardous, that could POTENTIALLY cause a lawsuit. Otherwise that tire is like 40 bucks cuz it's a quite uncommon size. And they're both so worn out that if I bought one new one, my right side would be higher than the left. So 80 bucks. FML. Made my bracket for my disc brake and welded/bolted it all together. DUAL DISCS!!! WHOOOO! Kinda redesigned the front end too, so the supports won't be in the way of the steering anymore.

Oh yeah, I made mounting points for a rear bumper, and as soon as my metal comes in, Mon, or Tues, ill make the bumper, and finish the rear supports. After that, beefier rack and pinion steering, pedals, and a door. That's all in the near future. I want a quad engine with reverse. I REALLY don't feel like getting out of the dam n thing every time I need to back up. Also, I REALLY need someone to help me come up with a way to keep a 12V car batt charged. Do alternators need to spin at a constant, or certain speed? I dont feel like running a jackshaft, but....

well i believe so, they are just connected by a belt. the pulley sizes seem to be the same. looks like a 1:1 ratio to me.

Everything is looking great but I will comment that I think you need a new caliper for your brakes, I dislike the kind in your most recent picture. They tend to have a fairly weak stopping strength.

If you're talking about the black one on the right, then yes, I agree. But I am going to have them work together. I can't afford hydraulic, but the one on the left is mechanical, and very strong.

hmm seperate pedals right? i might be asking stupid but never heard of 2 brakes. should be fine with the ones u got im sure.

No, one pedal, with both cables synchronized to grip each rotor at the same time. The black one will be gripping a little sooner than the other one though, cuz its weaker. I made a sweet new bumper, and put it on the back. Got one more support set up on each side of it to keep it all strong. Got my floor all welded in... There are places beside the floor that are open, but seeing as it's getting sheet metal on the underside, I really don't care. I took apart my weak and limited radius, tie-rod type steering linkage so I could install my new, massively beefy rack and pinion setup... but I never got the rack, and need some input on how to make one. So that's why the steering wheel would be in my chest if I was sitting in it. I got my mounts for my pedals made, and pedals should be done by Monday.. Hopefully. Also Finally got my gull wing door started. I had to cut the mounting plate part of each side of the hinges in half to make it fit on my 1 inch tubing. Just like every other open end on this thing, I filled it in beautifully with nothin' but Mig wire I'm so proud of those. Anyway, enough blabbin, here come the pics.

I'm building a buggy from scratch, using a rack and pinion from a mid 80's EZ-GO golf cart. Hope this helps.
