Cool engine!!! I've got a 1983 or 1984 Honda VF750 Interceptor.

Mine is also an 83. I will be getting the VIN off of it today and seeing what i have for certain.

Is your engine a runner?

When i got the bike, they told me they had just rebuilt the carbs and gave them good cleaning, but also said that they got in a hurry and pinched a couple fuel lines putting them back on. But it does run if i pour fuel into the intake/air filter box. so ill fix that problem once i get the motor out.

Also- if your engine IS an early 750-four, look in to the top end oiling mods. The first generation of these engines had a problem keeping the top end sufficiently lubed at lower RPM.

Ill take a look at that, but i dont plan on keeping it at low RPMs for very long haha. but i will defiantly look at it so i dont lose a motor.

If you've got fresh diaphragms, I am very seriously jealous. Honda doesn't offer them any more, and so they can be tricky to find. I was even debating fabbing up my own manifold and using an automotive carburetor...

I wont know for sure till i get it all apart. but i dont doubt that they are hard to find. It seems like everything is getting that way. Im still looking to find the right wiwring diagram just for the ignition but thats not going so well all ive found is for the lights and all. i also need to find out where everyone is getting the disc brakes for their karts, i plan on using the brakes off the front of the bike. And an fabbing up a manifold sounds like an awesome idea.

Well i think i might have got lucky today even tho im going to have to do some heavy modification to get this frame to hold up. I was driving down the road, and saw this frame sitting behind a guys house offered him 20 bucks and drove off with the frame, here are some pictures, tell me what you guys think.

Honestly- save that frame for an engine that does NOT put out 86hp. By the time you sufficiently mod that frame for the required duty, you will have built a new frame- except with the added frustration of having to cut it apart and figure out how to re-use bits of it. Slap a nice little industrial engine on that one and call it a day.

On the other hand, lemme look around. I MAY have the service manual for the engine, possibly including wiring diagram. I'll get back to you.

I really think that's another project, I WILL post the angles tomarrow. You can expect them about 8:15 eastern time.

Yea i thought about that, but then ill have to find a smaller engine to put on it lol. Ill see what happens in the very near future. I might mount my 750 to it just for the heck of it and see how it rips. Does anyone know where to get wheels, slicks, axles, bearings and mounts for cheap? Im also wondering how to mount a Rotor to the front wheels, it has confused me to no end.

Holy overcomplication, Batman! Let's torture the fabricator!

Seriously- way too much where it matters not, and too little where critical.

Ok everyone i have some updated pictures with the rear end and the motor that is now out of the bike after a lot of work. So here they are...

Still a bunch of work to be done, but this (as many of you know) is a process that cant be rushed.

A couple more pictures of the rear end SEMI attached.

Got more welding to do and some braces to put in, but at least i can roll it around now if i need to. Still gotta get the shaft pieced together so i can mach the motor up to get the motor mounts tacked in place.

Im gonna wait to build your design for when i get some new steel, welding on this old frame has almost been a nightmare but its coming together. and im going to brace the crap out of it.
