Also, disassembled the front suspension/components

* Used the Dremel (& small cut off wheel) to mark (permanently scarred) many of the "left" side components ta help with proper re-assembly

After lettin' the paint dry for a couple of days, I started assemblin' stuff

Added a little blue "medium strength" Thread-loc to the rotor bolt threads


Then, started installin' 'er on the swing arm (thin spacer, bearing spacer, inner bearing "pack" & hub)

Installed a ~1/16" thick shim/washer/spacer (thanks T)

Goes up/against the caliper mounting bracket (like this)
...ta space the hub a little bit away from the caliper mounting bracket/swing arm)

So, the hub can spin freely (like this)
...& can't/don't rub against the swing arm

Did some assembly on the front hubs too
* Notice the bearing "seat" (so the bearing can't move or be drawn inside the hub)

Prepped the bolts

...with (blue) Thread-locker (just a dab will do)

Have those hubs been spin balanced? If not you may see a high speed vibration or a catastrophic failure from an explosion. That’s according to the Space Alieums I was talking to while they were in town to see the light show. They said pretty color though.

Actually, they were! Well, they were on the spinny thing @ 600RPM...
Some paint wakes up those things! (nowadays, ya have to say wakes or waked, to avoid woke)

Spindles
The original plan was to use spindles (on the front) that were 4 1/2" long
...but, (as we found out) they were (technically) a bit too short

So, (my buddy) T improvised a solution
...& added a little "notch out" in the side of the hub, for inserting a Cotter/safety pin

It was a great solution
...but, I really wanted the bearing(s) mounted at/on the ends of the hub(s)

Plan B
So, (as you can see) I ordered some spindles with 6" arms (BMI karts)
...& made a longer "spacer" to bring the bearing(s) out to the edge, of the hub

Then, added a "washer" to "space" the retaining nut away from the bearing

* Notice how the washer doesn't go across or "bridge" the inner & outer parts of the bearing?

Because the inner part (of the bearing) is supposed to stay stationary (& not rotate with the wheel)
...while the outer part (of the bearing) "is" supposed to spin with the wheel

Then, installed a Castle nut

Adjusted the Castle nut down to where there was no lateral (side to side) movement of the hub, on the spindle
...while making sure that the hub still spins "freely"

* I used an unpainted Castle nut to mark the holes, for the safety pins
...drilled 'em out
...& then, installed the safety pins

...& we may be able to use that extra little bit of spindle length, for mounting some stationary, aerodynamic wheel covers

...so, it's been...a minute...or decade...or so

Remember when I ordered some XT90 connectors?
Well, some how I ordered the wrong stuff
...& a (10) pack of little dinky XT60 connectors showed up (the bottom connectors)

So, I had ta re-order (for real this time) some XT90's
...& then, got (1) installed on the battery pack

Been tryin' ta finish up most of the weldin', on this here chassis

Most of it was just tacked together (spot welded here & there just to hold everything "in place")

Also added some dual-purpose gussets (chassis strengtheners & floor pan mounting points)

Good on ya with the spacer. That will work fine. I don't remember the depth, but is there room for another bearing? I probably have parts. you could put, just the outer race in there to move the bearing out to where ya want it.

The bearings fit pretty snuggly in the hubs
...& yup, I agree "with the spacer, they should work fine"
...but, if necessary, I still gots some Loc-Tite Bearing Retainer (glue)

It might add too much drag and wear his Evereadys out sooner.

T was suggesting using/inserting just the outer race, of a bearing, in behind the bearing (not a whole bearing)
...kinda like an outer race "spacer"
