Typically those batteries are 12v 7ah and would be great replacements for Power Wheels and Razor Electric vehicles.

If you have a good way to charge them...
They would be great for adding 12v LEDs to a go kart too. As they are Sealed lead acid Batteries they can be mounted in any position too.
Many a joke can be made with that last sentence, but I enjoy not being banned.

It's too bad they don't have small enough, lightweight batteries to do electric go karts easily with a decent range on them too then have a quick charge time. Even fuel cell would be such a nice alternative, but man talk about cost prohibited.

On the topic of Craftsman tools, I have a in/lbs and ft/lbs torque wrenches and I could have sworn Sears could get them recalibrated but the owner's pamphlet they came with never gave a precise answer. So what's a young man to do?

hmm, now i want to drive to home depot and find some batteries! More junk just what i need.

On a side note half the florescent bulbs are still good . When 1 goes out the other fades out so people replace them both. It's been years since I bought 4ft. Shop lights. Look for the ones that are white still on the ends not a grey color. Ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard ,relesh ,salt and pepper are free at the convenience stores stock up... they are great for in the lunch box:wai:.

Sounds like SnapOn, Marco, Mac tools...Have to wait until God knows when for it to come back, which sucks especially if it's the only tool you have like it. So if Stanely is going to be like that, this will screw a lot of people over.

Not really.
I think it is Good for Stanley. They now have Retail Tool exchange outlets Via The Existing Craftsman Distributors Sears, Kmart and Ace Hardware.
However the Quality of Craftsman tools have gone south in recent Decades since the 80s and 90s. I have some Very Good stanley Tools. The only Tape measure I prefer to use is a Stanley "FAT MAX". I hope the Stanley tools Do not lesson in Quality as the the Craftsman has.
Imagine them just sticking the Stanley name on a POS Craftsman tool.

However they've already been selling their brand there for years already. But I've also seen Stanely at Walmart, so Craftsman might be sold there too.

This could get interesting. Cause Craftsman hand tools compete Directly with H.D. "Husky" brand. But Stanley tools are also available at the Home D.

I think the Craftsman brand might just be long forgotten soon. Unless Stanely can turn the quality around, I'll bet more people will just buy the higher quality tools in comparison. Competition is great for us and it should help push for better things like it always has.

I'm not a professional mechanic, but for Xmas a got a Husky 349 pc. tool set a Husky 28 pc. pass thru 3/8 socket set. Also a craftsman 58 pc. socket set and a craftsman 11 pc. plier set and a Stanly pass thru socket set, and a Husky 26" wide 9 drawer tool box.

I already have these brand name tools and tool boxes before Xmas plus other brand names. But for what it's worth they all seem to work very well for me so far. Although I really do like the price of H.D. husky brand. And also craftsman when they are on sale.

Stopped by Sears today to get a good look before craftsman was gone. Clerk said only stanly owns craftsman. Sears will still carry craftsman. Yay.

Also Sears stocks 15" turf savers with rims! $50 each. They had 4.

If stanly is like my company it will be years before they can consolidate craftsman to nothing. You don't spend millions and the stop a known good brand. You slowly cut it down. And out source what you can while keeping the name. 5-8 good years then you will notice crappy product from China. Then gone.

Until Sears is no more. Coming soon I am afraid. :(

That being said, has anyone broken a Pittsburgh hand tool and tried to exchange it for a new one at Harbor Freight? Lifetime Guarantee or so they say.

Did they ask for proof of purchase or give any hassles or conditions?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craftsman_(tools)
"Beginning in 2010, hand tools manufactured for Craftsman by Apex Tool Group such as ratchets, sockets, and wrenches began being produced overseas (mainly in China although some are produced in Taiwan), while tools produced for Craftsman by Western Forge such as adjustable wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers and larger mechanic tool sets remain made in the United States. Sears still has an Industrial line which is sold through various authorized distributors and these tools are US made. They appear identical to their previous non-industrial US made counterparts, save for the "Industrial" name stamped on them. They are manufactured by Apex on the US production lines that made the previous US made product before production switched overseas to Asia. Tool storage has typically been manufactured by Waterloo Industries, while air compressors were manufatctured by DeVilbiss Air Power (part of Dewalt), and formerly by Campbell Hausfeld."

Just look for pre-2010 tools and... never use them again lest you break one and have to replace it with Chinese junk.
Or switch to Industrial.

Yah well you pick up anything around the house nowadays and its says right there. made in china!

Funny though. My craftsman screwdrivers do say Made in USA. but they are old so maybe usa made?

You want to hear some crappy things. There is a thing called BAA buy america act. This says as long as your product is designed in US and the software on that product is installed in the US then you can put assembled in USA. I've seen it first hand. i deployed some software installation for my companies product. Comes from China assembled but we have our warehouse people load the software.

Technically Designed in USA and Assembled in USA.

Then there is TAA, Trade Agreement Act. That says something like if you assemble 20% or more then you can claim Assembled in USA.

But most product is from a couple foreign countrys. China, Taiwan (almost same as china), Mexico, and the select few from Japan.

The shirt im wearing says haiti!

8+ years ago my company built product in the USA. Then a french company came in and outsourced us to china. :( We had 10 buildings. 1 metal shop, 1 SMT shop, 1 Paint shop, assembly lines, engineering departments, 2500 local people. I need a beer!

p.s. we are probably less then 1000 people. We have 4 buildings now. had 12 in my group, only 2 of us left.

I have some of there professional ratchets, and those are by far the best modern Craftsman ratchets I've used. They do have a sharp edge on them, but are rounded. No idea if US made, but man they are much more heavy duty than the chrome plated ratchets from them.
