Chaps,

Thanks for the answers. I have a spare bearing and carrier plate. Mk1 go kart used all three but I thought it was just adding to the weight, and not really necesary.

So do we think I should run a third bearing closer to the sprocket. It's only 6.5hp?

Torque will definitely bend that axle to the point of the chain jumping.

No updates but a public thankyou :cheers2: to Wobbly for the steering rack :cheers2:.

That chalks of one of the things still to get.

I think I will fit the 3rd bearing on Sunday.

And what do you call this little Do-Hickey. It almost looks like a pilot valve from a water heater or a furnace.

That is a control for the Kenlowe electric fan so that i can dial in what temperature i want it to switch on at.

Bad news on the engine upgrade front as my Mrs has just spent my engine fund on a caravan ................ Grrrrrrrrr. Having said that we got some decent weather yesterday so it was good fun "playing" with a civic type R in the twisties and leaving him for dead............ not bad for a 35yr old engine!!!!

On a slight aside I was getting the towing electrics fitted on the car and the guy doing it had a mini moto bike for sale for £20................ it would have been rude not to, so it's in the garage too. The kill switch is missing so i have ordered one from ebay (not arrived yet) for the princely sum of £2.49 but i have no idea where it connects to..............anyone have an idea?

Well after doing nowt at the weekend it was time to do a little more so we fabricated the rear strengthening sections.

We made up a matching smaller cut off "A" frame and joined that to the middle "A" frame which will hopefully add some more rigidity at the back.

Still got the other side to do before starting on strengthening the front and tackling the steering.

hopefully making this box section at the rear will give somewhere to attach the brake caliper to without too many dramas

Hi all,

Well, a bit more done at the weekend and the frame is complete (ish) apart from mounting the steering rack and wheel, seat mounting, pedals and brake calliper.

This weekend we put in the second rear stiffening bar (I hate compound angles!!!) at least weld can be used to fill the miscalculations :D.

At the front we have put two triangles for strength, a small one from the centre roll hoop and then off this to the front. There is no chassis flex now.

Hopefully this week I can get the rack mounted - probably in front rather than behind the front chassis member - so it won't get in the way of the pedals. As the cockpit area is tapering towards the front, does anyone have a genius method for fastening pedals so they are straight when pressed (if that makes any sense!!) rather than folowing the angle of the frame.

Not long till it gets pulled apart to be painted. The kids think red for the frame with an alloy sheet floor riveted in.
